Do you need to protect the bottom skirt board from rotting since it will be in contact with the ground and exposed to the elements?

Thanks for watching. Use pressure treated lumber. On my shop I poured a concrete floor and on the outside I backfilled with crushed stone for really good drainage. On the equipment shed here I have crushed stone inside and against the back. The two short side skirts do have dirt contacting them but the pt lumber should be of help. The best option I see is pt lumber and backfilled with crushed stone like I mentioned earlier.

What's the reasoning for stacking 2x4s on the 2 back corner 4x4s? Is that normal, or was it just so you had something to screw girts to? I have very little to no knowledge of making a building, unless I'm going to be bolting and welding it together. Haha!

MrJman26211 , That was because of hole misplacement. I had to build the pole out to catch the lumber I had. It was an auger size issue that I forgot about until after. Instead of digging the holes out larger I went that route. You can ignore it as it has nothing to do with correct construction. Sorry about the confusion and thanks so much for watching.

Standard girt or turned girt....which one is stronger?

suavilica , if in a high wind area I would go with bookshelf (commercial) girts as they are stronger and also give a nailing surface if you are going to finish the interior. Where I am it’s pretty much the flat girl laid on the outside of the poles. Flat girts go on quicker and give a wider nailing surface.
