Speaking as a guy who was a teen during the 80's, here's the thing I love about 80's music so much. We had huge mega stars and bands like Van Halen, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Cindy Lauper, Prince, The Police, Journey, etc. And you also had these smaller hidden gems like this great song by Giuffria that may not have had the chart success or the airplay the others did, but were still great songs that remain on my playlist today.

I'm 30 (born in 1984), but when I was in high school in the late 90's and early 2000's, I was listening to 70's and 80's music -- specifically rock and metal -- and ignored most of my generation's "hits." At the time I thought the current music of that period was horrible in comparison to the previous generations, but it's only become worse and makes the music I hated back then sound a lot better.

Music studios today choose their "artists" (I use the term liberally) for how pretty their faces are and how hot their bodies are, period. A year of online friendship has revealed to her that I had been planning since the 70's to set up a winter home not far from her new home as soon as my current home & future summer home was paid off next year. Hopefully she'll realize after two summers of 100°+ weather that the idea my grandparents inspired 40 years ago of keeping a house in our hometown could elevate kindred spirits to soulmates.

Fun fact: The singer, David Eisley, would later sing "Sweet Victory" in the Spongebob Squarepants episode "Band Geeks"

Oh, so there was a time when the producers of "Spongebob Squarepants" took advantage of a famous musician's talents. And here I thought they only had David Bowie on "Atlantis Squarepantis," and we all know how well that turned out!

Giordan Diodato - I think a far more interesting fun fact is that he's married to acclaimed (& hotter-than-hell) actress Olivia Hussey who famously portrayed Juliet in Romeo And Juliet back in the late 1960's! Dude, gets extra "stud points" for that.

One of the KOOOLEST things in this video that i just noticed is the 55 gallon drums with the Guiffria emblem painted on them & used as stands & props. My dad passed away in '99 but he had a chemical company that he opened in 1971 here in Mauldin, S.C. (near Greenville) that he ran for 30+ years & i worked there for him for ALL the 30+ years & these metal drums really give me GOOD memories & really takes me back to REMINISCE........I LOVE YOU DADDY & MISS YOU.........

Memories come rushing back...Darlin' you remember the dreams that we had I'd give everything, my world, to hold you again ♦Call To The Heart Lyrics Can I ever live without you girl Get back on my feet again Now I'm lost in your world And there's no simple way to let you go When you've been such a part of me And though you choose to walk a separate road I still believe in you So, call to your heart, hear me calling to you Oh I call to your heart, I'm calling to you Distant voices in the silent night, call to a memory Someone touched me but it don't feel right It's only you I need When I call to your hear Can you hear all the times When I call to your heart Calling to you, calling to you Call to your heart Your love I lost along the way, But darling I'll find you some day Callin' to you, hear me call to you, Hear me callin' to you Darlin' you remember the dreams that we had I'd give everything, my world, to hold you again And darlin' together, we can make it work out So stay with me baby, I need you now I call to your heart, hear me callin' to you Hear me call to your heart, hear me callin' to you Callin' to you I'll call to your heart, call to your heart Hear me callin' to you, to your heart

Revisiting this again... late 2021. God...What a time. The Roaring 80's. Just went and searched brief interviews with both Goldy and DG Eisley...and 'Found 'em. Just wanted to hear and see, where they're at now. Both seemed in good spirits and spoke quite well about past things and current things. Another thing i can't help but 'hear...listening to this one ( and certainly no slight to Eisley, as he sounds great on this) but...anyone else hear the Steve Perry' goin' on, in his voice. In this 'song, even?.... Could have easily been a Journey Hit. As if they didn't have enough of those... Lol! All around, just great memories of that golden decade of 'perfect decadence' and 'carefree youthful fun'...we all had. I was a drummer in my 20's... in a band called Northrup...in Sacramento. We were showcasing all over California... Johnny Edwards was our singer, who later went on to Foreigner for a time. All now...in a galaxy, far, far away.....
