If a leader is showing gratitude to a team, they must say their names. One of the responsibilities of a boss is to know who did what work, where, when, why, and how. Therefore, using an excuse for not listing the names of the team, such as, "I was afraid I'd miss someone" is a crap excuse.
IT'S YOUR JOB
It's no different a programmer being "afraid" they will write a bug.
It's no different than a security analyst being "afraid" they will miss a vulnerability.
It's no different than anyone else being "afraid" they will make a mistake. It's their job. It does not stop them from doing the work.
Dale Carnegie said, “A person's name is to him or her the sweetest and most important sound in any language.” How true that is.
So, the next time YOU show gratitude for the team, SAY. THEIR. NAMES.
