www.creators.com/read/your-social-security/06/16/social-security-disability-is-not-welfare SSI and SSD are different do not confuse the two. SSI is welfare but SSD is for disabled people who worked and paid taxes or sometimes still do have to pay taxes depending on the ammount they were awarded after becoming disabled. I have probably paid more taxes than you have ever paid in your life before becoming disabled because before becoming disabled I was never unemployed for more than a month and sometimes worked two jobs. my last job before becoming disabled paid over $15 an hour and I would often over pay on taxes. Which you have the option to do on your W2 form because it benefits you when you later need SSD or Social Security retirement benefits.
@locustnet22

@@AtepaHathorMakalani Having down syndrome has never been some automatic payout for social security benefits/assistance. They get an assessment yearly by the social security administration to check progress, regress, eligibility for benefits elsewhere (because they're a dirty socialist system) and yes, they WILL put them on welfare IF they qualify, which they can most of the time with the help of a legal guardian or private case worker . I had seizures everyday for 10 years and those pieces of shit gave me scraps. Now I'm cured and my new job is helping the disabled get through this same shit system that will be non- existant in 2 years. Not just SSI/SSDI, but all benefits including EBT, Medicare, Medicaid and welfare will be expended. The U.S. would be lucky if we still have a govt. run HUD program.
