Just found your video after acquiring a GT150. This gives me more hope that I can accomplish this with a little patience and elbow grease! Thanks for making this video.

Just a note for Biggdaddy2001, Kurt did glass the whole floor in around the seams and perimeter of the floor. for some reason it didn't show up in the video but beleave me it is very well glassed in.."looks factory"..... I am the owner of this boat and I took it out for a shake down cruse on Sunday, the river was very busy and there were plenty of wakes and rollers to hit and jump over. The boat was very solid and handled everything that we put it through. Even though Kurt was not an experienced boat re-builder he did a top shelf and what I would consider a very professional job on the boat. Thanks Kurt we had lots of fun with her and shes ready for many more trips up and down the good'ol Mississippi.........

Yup, he did a nice job. Boat floors are a real PITA and fiberglass boats take the cake. I redid the transom and floor in my Alumacraft and it was no peach either. Easier than fiberglass but not by much. Kudos your crispness.

To put pressure on where you were talking about I have used a couple of 2x4s with a turnbuckle in between and turn up the tension til it sets and cures. I would also pre treat all lumber with Pentox and then cover with fibreglass. Also what kind of wood are you using? I recommend Sitka Spruce of Red Oak especially for keels. But looking good.

anything else to use other than Ply wood? it rots kinda fast.

With all the information out there about fiberglassing transoms / stringer, still people still bush it. To each his own I guess.

Could you use the plastic boards they use on new decks on hiuses? That and fiberboard plastics for sheets. Do it once kinda setup. No wood.

I don't know. I guess a guy would have to do a test to see how well fiberglass sticks to the plastic boards.

You did not show expanding foam flotation. What weight foam did you use?

Gorilla glue for a boat??? Your kidding. Using water soluble glue on a boat, now that's a first. Good luck with that.

Cool, didn't know that, but I think I'll stick to Gluvit, It's what we use when building wooden long-liners for the North Atlantic. It's like using 5200 vice some other brand. Good enough is not always good enough, hehehe KORITFW

The hardest thing about KZitem advice is figuring out the arm-chair advisers from the ones who actually did the work and used the products in question. Basically, I don't give advice on flying the space shuttle cause I never even sat in one, much less fly it. Lots people watch a couple vids and now they are experts
