Continue to find more gleaners. They are so underrated. I’m always enthused to see you and other KZitemrs filming them. They are beautiful machines that more farmers need to try out. I love to watch combines. They are marvels of engineering. Imagine a farmer, 75 years ago, going to a John Deere engineer and telling him that he wants to buy a machine that will enter a field of standing corn at one end and exit the other end with nothing but clean grain in the hopper. The machine has to steer itself and tell me the moisture content and yield per acre. That engineer would be sure the farmer had been drinking heavily but that's what we have today.

Always been a fan of the Gleaner combines. My neighbor used to have a Gleaner with a 2 row corn head. I can’t remember what the model was. But there’s a KZitemr in Indiana that has 3 Gleaner L2’s and one of those has the old steel tracks.
@leonsieberns9191
Жыл бұрын
The combine your talking about with the 2 corn head could have been several different models. My dad bought an A gleaner in 1971 it had a 2 row 38 inch row spacing cornhead and 12 foot wide grain table. Then in 1975 my dad bought a G gleaner it had a 4 row 38 inch row spacing corn head and a 15 feet wide grain table. Then in 1983 my dad bought a M gleaner, it had a 6 row 30 inch row corn head and 18 feet wide grain table. We ran the M combine til 2001. These combines all had the threshing cylinder mounted in the feeder house area and had a rock trap door built just to the front of the threshing cylinder. That was the main reason he ran the gleaner combines. They had reliable engines , transmissions, and final drives. Never had any trouble with those items on any of the 3 machine's that we ran.

Those safety chains for implements never stay coupled together! EVER! even brand new and especially in corn stalks that haven't had any stompers run over them. Sometimes they'll last 1,000ac if you latch em and then take some electrical tape or duck brand duct tape. But the stalks will still eat em alive by 1,000ac! Then whatever your do next. No till drill or till. Might as well just take the safety chain off. Cause it'll be dragging every 200ac. It's rediculous every company uses the exact same safety chain system THAT DOESNT WORK! You really should do a video on that! From now on every single farm you go to ask them what they think about the current safety chain system that's used by every single manufacturer in the United States. Then put together a video when you get enough. Then someone should do the same over the pond. I bet you a million bucks they don't use the same system over there. Shoot. They make them use brakes on their implements for road travel over there. Idk. Just seems weird to me that every single manufacturer in the us uses the same dumb idea with the spring loaded pin that locks the slide thing in place. Just hope your implement never detaches on you anyway! If your in tillage it's mighty violent! And down the road it's scary! Had a fert cart pass me on a 4 lane hw! Smh. The whole drawbar came out of the tractor! Dang. They didn't let you ride along? Or do those gleaners not have a goot buddy seat system? Ok. Sorry for the ramble!
