We were driving thru a small town in Arkansas a few days ago and there was a sign that said "Delight Arkansas, Home of Glen Campbell". Remembering that he was buried there we found our way to his gravesite at his family cemetery. When you walk up to his grave there is a motion sensor that activates a speaker on a big tree that plays this exact version of this song. It is a beautiful experience. I recommend anybody in the area to go by and visit.

My mother died in 1990,a simple woman LAID TO REST!!! She would sing this hymn to me as a kid.When the chore came to Have a hymn song when the family walked in,I could think of 1 hymn Amazing grace!! Im balling as I listen to this by Glenn. Mom I know u love jesus U are singin this song in heaven for me daily!!!

My mother was from Scotland. She used to.tell stories of her dad who never missed a day of work and would go out drinking after work on Friday nights and Come home to their apt in the bronx) drunk and serenade the neighbors in the middle of the night with his bagpipes. Not sure if he could play well sober. Lol. But Glen could play music by ear and sing well. I admit I have never seen anyone play and sing the same song at same time. Impressive. But that was Glen. And his music beginnings was as a sessions man in recording g studio. Check out utube on it.

What an amazingly graceful man he was. To be that talented, and yet unassuming and modest, that's a very rare combination. And, as a bagpipe player myself, I can tell you that's no easy thing he's doing up there and he pulls it off beautifully. Kind of got in my soul kitchen as "Amazing Grace" was the first tune I learned to play on the pipes.... oh, so many years ago...

I remember while watching Today Show the subject of college scholarships for bagpipes came up. Bryant Gumble didn't know why anyone would have bagpipe scholarships. Willard Scott said "you haven't heard Amazing Grace till you've heard it played on the bagpipes.

Really sad, he left us. As a brazilian i follow his career since i heard him for first time in Year 1970. God bless him, where he should be. At this times war difficul to got his records in Brazil , so i beg each one , who travelled to USA to bring me his records.

An all-time classic hymn...Campbell's voice will never be duplicated, his range and tone are just so unique. When he hit's those high notes here, it's easy to get choked up listening. I pray he will live out his remaining years in comfort and with God's Amazing Grace. Thanks Glenn!
