The smile on the very talented Steve Wariner’s face is proof enough of the feeling of satisfaction one gets from hearing Glen take a solo. This was a great pairing; if ever there were a greater devotee of Glen Campbell, then I dare you name them. It’s a real treat to watch and listen to this.

Thank goodness for the like minded people who share this music with us, for the stuff that's played by the new age artists is nothing but bullcrap. Artists like Glenn Campbell are legends and will always remain so for people like us.

We are fortunate to have lived through the greatest era of pop, rock, and country music ever recorded. It’s a gift I will always cherish, while trying to pass a bit of it along to a new generation that has very little to look forward to, given the awful state of music and our media.

One factor that gets lost in the shuffle… Glen Campbell is playing a Stratocaster… Perfectly clean and without any “grease” or EFX added to enhance his sound or cut corners. THAT is the mark of a truly fine guitarist. Neither the Stratocaster or the Telecaster are forgiving or easy instruments to play or master, so let that be yet another credit to his legacy.

Steve Wariner is a marvelous guitarist in his own right. Like Vince Gill, he has the voice of an angel, and writes some seriously wonderful songs. He has been a fan of Glen Campbell since he was old enough to play the guitar, and it shows. If I were going to choose anyone to do a Glen Campbell tribute band, then Steve Wariner would be my first choice. Talk about a musician who has it all, but holds it back with creative restraint. His baritone solo is picture perfect, and emulates the Times of this song when it was performed originally. The part that gets me is how many people do not realize that this song was about Vietnam… People don’t seem to listen… Well some of us do. For the record, I do not like tribute acts, but you get my message.
