This song should be an anthem for anyone dealing with this horrible illness. Glen (through the song)shows the back side of the disease.. and the fact that there is a "small silver lining to it all". I'm so happy that his musical prowess was preserved right up until the end. He is sadly missed. One of my all-time favorite musicians. Rest In Peace, Brother. God bless

Glenn was a pretty remarkable guy. I wished I could’ve known him. But in a weird way, I almost felt that I did know him through his music. He put so much of himself into his music. And he still maintained his sense of humor. I wonder if he knew just how good he was. I wish I could’ve had somebody like him for a dad. Mine took off when I was still a little kid. My gosh, I could just imagine the stories he could tell. I think he pretty much knew everybody from Elvis to Sinatra. thanks for all the music Glenn. And thanks for contributing to the research that might help find a cure for that horrible disease.

I've never been a huge Glen Campbell fan, but, enough to recognize his voice. The first time I heard this song on the radio, I had already pegged the voice and turned it up. When I heard the words, I had to pull over, I couldn't see a damn thing, for some reason. I don't know who wrote this song, but to have Glen sing it was probably the most touching thing I've ever heard. Will always think of Galveston and this song when I think of him.

I lived this. The absent look in her eye. Not even realizing this is her daughter, sitting in front of her. The desperation, when she keep asking me to take her home, because her long deceased mother will be worried. Then the complete absence of thought, and the waiting for it to all be over. And the guilt for wanting her suffering to end. And also your own suffering to end, because you become trapped in an endless cycle of caring for someone, who doesn't even know they are on this earth. Many caregivers die before the person they are trying to care for, due to stress. It's a miserable life to have to live. There is no help for you, even with the best insurance. Mine had the best, and we got nothing, except a visit from a nurse a couple times a week, and someone who came and sat with her, once a week, for three hours. I guess that was when I was supposed to go have some fun. It wasn't. That's when I went to my room and cried.

I was obsessed with the movie Rock-A-Doodle when I was a kid. Chanticleer was my favourite animated character at the time, and I forced my parents to drive to all of the Dairy Queens in the area to get the total collection. I literally fell asleep to the soundtrack as a kid. I still have my figurines 30+ years later (Snipes was a moving casualty, unfortunately), but Chanticleer is still around. I rips my heart out just knowing this music icon, this wonderful man was put out to pasture when he entered the final stages of this dreadful ALZ disease...at a time when familiarity and family and old friends around him was of the utmost importance. Cathleen Johnson your comment makes you sound ignorant. Do you have Alzheimers or any other form or dementia? I do. I know I'd rather have my last days mean something and raise awareness. How do you know he was "put out to pasture ", as you self righteously put it? For all you know, it was something that he and his family planned for when he still was in the early stages. Please, if you're truly a believer, reserve judgments of the heart for your God. What you said sounded so very cruel. We don't know other's lives, so please don't say things like that. It's hurtful, and not any of our places to cast aspersions on other people's families. He chose her. He loved her. Can't you just accept that and enjoy his beautiful swan song?

Take one day at a time, I take one minute at a time being a brain damage Stroke Survivor, have worried since it happen will I get Dementia nobody knows. For now my Dr.'s say I do not have it my brain is still of a 60 year old. I have no control what my future brings but I hold onto all Glen's beautiful Lyrics. - Glen was strong, loving and an amazing man & musician boy he could strum a Guitar - his music, his love for family especially his & his dear friends. His farewell song says it all I'm Not Gonna Miss You' this song he says it all. Every time I hear this song makes me cry as someone once said I'm Not Gonna Miss You. -- you stop and think anyone struck by this horrendous disease no they're not going to miss us. Glen you were a true Legend as your precious beautiful daughter follows your footsteps. RIP Our Friend To All.
