A very wise man once told be.......There are great singers........and there are fantastic musicians..........and occasionally super entertainers......however, every now and then someone comes along that posesses all of those traits and we only then have a LEGEND. That wise man would have to concur that Glen Campbell is indeed a legend. Even today with his failing health, this legend has more talent in one finger than most have in their entire body. Just my humble opinion.

amapro21 You couldn't have said it any better than that. He started out his career as a studio musician and somehow he became a member of the famous Wrecking Crew, the best of the best studio musicians, and he became the most requested musician from Elvis to Sinatra and anyone in between. I truly wish we could find a full list of everyone whose records he played on. Then I think he said it was Dickie Smothers who found he could sing, and that gave him his own summer tv show. People went crazy listening to his singing and playing. After that, to use Jimmy's own words, he "found the voice that he wanted to record his songs he had written" and of course that was Glen. The rest of their story is history. The documentary of his farewell tour is incredible. It's very transparent, taking people through what goes on with someone who has Alzheimer's. I lost my mom to it. There is a beautiful interview with Alice Cooper on here, and he tells about the many times he and Glen played golf together. Apparently Golf was another thing he was good at.....along with making babies! Eight in total. It truly sucks at all the amazing musicians we've lost in just the last couple of years, but that's the beauty of You Tube. You can find beautiful music that you only have on an old gray and scratchy album from so many years ago. When I can hear so many songs on here that have been remastered, it takes me back to my childhood and my teens. The interview with Alice is truly fun to listen to.

Mark Huff, listen to Glen with the Boston Pops. Not only does he shred the guitar on his solo, at the end he goes up high to that last "No", but I would almost bet he was deep into Cocaine at that time which I hate, but seeing how gaunt his face was, his jaw chiseled, and eyes almost look sunk in. Drugs messed him up, but we didn't know a lot about drugs back in the 60's and 70's, at least I didn't.

If KZitem had been available there would have been an even bigger fan base! Those days there was no such thing as auto tune. This performance was truly LIVE. His voice was a touch tired at the end when he didn't hit the notes on "Oh no" but who cares! This is live entertainment at its best with no computer enhancements. You HAD to have the talent back then because there was NO way to fake it!

I understand the sentiment. The talent is still out there though. The difference is that the entertainment industrial complex has no interest in talent.
