Hello gentlemen, hope all great with you, another great episode,as far as I know the first Campbelltonw Loch ratio was grain and malt, then the ratios change more Glen Scotia and nowadays the main proportion is Kilkerran unpeated not sure the ratio of SB, LR and HB, and just a tea spoon of Glen Scotia, by the way the unpeated Kilkerran is not bottled yet, still maturing in the warehouses, maybe I'm wrong, un abrazo 🤘

The Glen Scotia Double Cask is one of my go-to drams. At 46% ABV with a bit of complexity, no real flaws and an affordable price it's easy to reach for. I've had their 15yo and the Victoriana as well and find them both to be quite good. They're a solid distillery.

I’ve got the Double cask & Victoriana open and always a joy to drink either. Yet to try any of the age statement liquid, but if it’s better than the two I’ve mentioned then it’s a no brainer.

Another great episode. Been looking forward to this one. Was torn between 23 or 24 festival malt. Definitely gonna go with the white port one first after watching this. Also used the uncut20 code on the Glencairn website. Cracking deal. Thx for that gents.

For the battle of the 15s, the GS is tough to match. It would be interesting to include GM ever present IB 15s of Linkwood and Mortlach. Some OB 15s that could be interesting that I’ve had on the go are Cu Bocan, Tamdhu, Speyburn (value), Pulteney, Glencadam, Benromach, Benrinnes and Glengoyne. For me, the Glen Scotia, Glendronch, Benromach, Linkwood, and Glencadam would be contenders.

Can't disagree with you guys there! That 11yo white port is a great find, got one for about 65 euros a couple months ago that's getting better the longer it's open. Just poured myself a dram watching this episode. Another banger are their small batch (iirc 3 casks) oloroso finished bottlings at cask strength. I wasn't really impressed with the 15yo and double cask from '21 and found the Victoriana around that time to be all over the place and very hot, but I'm a couple years further in the journey now so would like to get back to them someday.

BIG GLEN SCOTIA! One of my favourite distilleries, shared out an excellent bottle at my wedding that Iain very kindly gave me when I visited on my stag do - absolute legend! People have to go if they're visiting Campbeltown, the tour is great, and they have some really well priced exclusive bottles in the visitor shop. Going up for the malts festival next year so will hopefully get tickets for the dinner.

Hi Guys, haven’t watched the full episode but did get to the 2023 festival. I intended opening the 23 tonight but switched it for the 24 first after your comments. Didn’t want the disappointment of 23 to 24. I did enjoy the couple of 24 drams I had tonight. 15yo is good but the Victoriana is a cracking dram.

Big Glen Scotia fan here. On the topic of Bordeaux casks: They did an Austrian exclusive 1st fill Bordeaux cask single cask release, 8y at 56,1% which is an absolute OUSH! If you guys make it to the distillery, I hope they have something similar there for you to taste. Fully matured GS in Bordeaux is a must! Would have liked to seen a Victoriana in the lineup because it's the perfect bridge between entry level and something with a bit more substance but honestly, your lineup was pretty awesome.

GS18 is lovely. Also a fan of the Victoriana. Solid liquid. The double cask is a great intro dram to that Campbletown style of malt imo. Enough of a unique salty coastal type but with enough sweetness to cut through that for the less experienced whisky drinker. Tbh I think that latest festival gets better as it opens up with time. I got a nice creamy white chocolate thing once opened for a good few months. On the whole GS is a great distillery some absolute hitters and a few shitters but there few and far between. 👌

Yes lads!!! A distillery that is close to my heart and really got me into the sweeter styles of scotch. I have had the harbour its alright love the double cask as a daily love the 15 and adore the Victoriana. They have a bunch of special releases each year and there always quality!! The pricing is spot and so are the specs except a bit of coloring for some reason...Cheers enjoy!!!

I am not the biggest fan of the solely bourbon matured whiskies but I really like the Glen Scotia Victoriana. Definitely my favourite from the core range. Sweet, woody and the alcohol is very well integrated for a relatively high abv! Great dram 🥃

Got a lovely 7 year old Loch fyne whisky exclusive open at the moment. Matured in 1st fill Ruby port hogshead. Also love the Victoriana and 18. Stashed a couple of flotsam and jetsom wemyss bottlings of 23 YO and their 2003 festival bottling too. Lovely juice.

Hi gent's and thanks for another episode. Nice lineup, the only I personally would change is to swab "harbour" to 10 y.o. which is much more balanced I would say. 15 y.o. is most balanced in terms of taste/price release in Glen Scotia range in my opinion. Regarding Bordeaux: just two weeks ago I've back from Campbeltown, I had there a wonderful tasting session at GS warehouse and Bordeaux finished 22 y.o. I would put at 2nd. place, 11 y.o. first fill Oloroso finish and 8 y.o. 2nd fill PX sherry butt finish on 3rd place and N.1 to me shared in between two expressions (peated and unpeated) both matured for 8 years in ex - Jim Beam casks, all drawn from the casks. Bought 9 fino at distillery as well (not tried yet), thinking about 23 y.o. G&M. I love 15 y.o.

Yea the fifteen is great! I'm also a big fan of the 18... great viscosity for 46%. Not actually a huge fan of most of the festival releases but excited to try the Palo Cortado Mermaid bottle and their single casks are usually solid bang for buck.

I love the Festival releases. They’re not terribly limited & they have fantastic distribution. Glen Scotia sits a notch above Springbank (for me) solely because of price and availability in California. I’m on my 3rd bottle of the 2022 PX peated, 2nd of the somewhat divisive 2021 Bordeaux. Good stuff. Cheers.

I’ve tried two of the malt festival releases, found them both interesting but very unbalanced (one was ruby port, the other I really don’t remember but it had a black label). I find Glen Scotia a bit hit a miss for me, and because I’m never sure if I’m actually going to enjoy it I tend to look elsewhere when buying. Cool episode though, going to grab a few samples to get a bigger picture of the distillery. P.s Edradour/Ballechin episode? They do wine maturation as good as anyone…

Glen scotia Glen scotia . personally i love glen scotia, the fino release this year is the weakest of the last 5 or 6 festival releases .IM really enjoying the 2022 8 year px heavily peated at the moment . We attended the warehouse tasting at the festival this year 5 drams all bourbon casks the oldest was 8 year old and it was one of the best warehouse tasting I've done the spirt shines at a young age for sure all the drams we had all tasted much older you never have guessed the age on any of them . Need to get a hold of the G and M bottle . Whisky sponge also released an 11 year old single cask for the festival excellent whisky some would say a bit expensive at £95 but i easily buy it again and the distillery exclusive bottle this year was £90 for a 7 year old. Poor Ian got cut off about 5 times every time he tried to mention that bottle i think he was almost on the verge of giving up😆😆
