Wow, that shot is gorgeous. That's what came to mind when I saw the result of your objective. I love the RX10 iv, but my main objective is wildlife. I started watching your channel just before you switched gear. I so enjoy your videos. Thanks for sharing!

Wow, that is a stunning location. Great work with the shot too, it looks so good. I imagine that, used properly, and bracketing exposures where necessary, the RX10iv will be hard to tell apart from much more professional cameras in 'normal' landscape situations. I wish it could replace all our gear. But, as you've found, there will be specific challenging situations where it can't.

Nice to see you back with another excellent vlog. Thinking of binning my Nikon gear and switching to an Olympus OMD EM10 Mark III. I know it’s micro four thirds and interchangeable lenses, but I am hoping it will cut down the bulk maybe just a little bit. Hope to see more of your work soon.

Steve thanks for watching. I have decided since this shoot that a full frame camera is really needed for my Astro shots and have bought a ten year old Nikon D700 which has better low light performance than the Sony. Picked up the Nikon and a f/2.8 wide angle lens for about the cost of the small Sony RX100v which I have sold. Keeping the big Sony for everything else.

Beautiful location, love the photos. I realise this is an older video but I wondered if you remember where you purchased the remote shutter from. I’m thinking of this camera for travel and just as a throw in the car when going for a weekend drive type thing rather than lugging a heavy backpack of gear with me.

Hi Nigel, I mirror your thoughts on the RX10 IV. I sold my Canon 7D Mkii and all the lenses to cut down on weight and although the RX10 can deliver some cracking images I am finding it isn't enough for me. So its back to Park Cameras and I will be testing the Olympus OMD E-M1X for a few days and if that doesn't fit the bill it will be a full frame. But hey I will be hanging on to the RX10. Thanks for sharing your thought and delivering a great video :)

Any chance of linking the remote name and lighting on the front of the camera?

F6.3?! that really step in diffraction territory of 1 inch sensor! for optimial quality, you should only set around F2.4-F4 and no more, unless for creativy purpose, because rx10 already has huge DOF to start with!
