Seabirds flocked to CSIRO Investigator as the ship surveyed deep-sea corals on seamounts protected by marine parks off southern Tasmania in November-December 2018. Our onboard observers are amazed at the diversity. With half the voyage still to come, they had spotted 38 species, including 10 different albatross . . . so attuned to this environment that they don't even need to flap their wings.
