Everyone's talking about how this song reminds them of a TF2 video, or conjurs scenes of battle or revolution. This song reminds me of an old friend who attempted suicide. I was the only one there to look after him. He confided in me. I showed him this song and it instantly became his favorite. Once he recovered, we gradually drifted away. We didn't talk to each other for a couple years. Then one day, long after I figured he forgot about me, he sent me a very unexpected message. He said he came over this song in one of his playlists. He said it reminded him of me and that he missed me. He thanked me and talked a bit about how his life had improved tremendously. I haven't heard from him since then, but I still think of him when I hear this song, and I hope he still remembers me.

Why don't you talk to him anymore? A friend I didn't see for over a year did the same to me today ... I'm so happy
@OberleutnantFalke
9 жыл бұрын
Y'know, I'm not sure. I guess I just feel like he doesn't need me in his life anymore. I was there when he needed me, and now he's living his own life and things are going good. My usefulness has worn out. Anyway, I'm happy to hear that. It's always great to hear from someone like that after a long time.
@SushiHushimo

Perhaps he feels that you think the same of him? If you helped him out in such a depressive time, I feel like he'd wish to spend more time with you. You say that he spoke to you one time after a long time of nothing. My point is, is it possible he wants to hang out with you again, but feels he's being a burden? Or am I overanalyzing things?

This is one of those songs where I need a moment to myself, to reflect. In a dark corner in my room, I sit and think, unlike the song I don't own a gun. Most of my thoughts being how my mental health has declined, how most of my real life friends have used and abandoned me, how I view myself as a failure, and how things would be better off if I didn't exist. Then, I get a hold of myself, and take my medication. I'm not suicidal, just clinically depressed.

I also think many times about life. However, I'm not depressed and I can't understand how can it be to have to consume medicine to just hold your mental health. I usually think that until the day of his death, a person can always change something, and that any person should ever make you depressed. You may commit fails, you may do things wrong, and you need to admit it, don't get me wrong. However, building your life around failures is a failure by itself. If someone is able to just forget those fails, those bad feelings, that we all have, you can get out of depression. Best wishes to you

The beauty of this song reminded me of my dads favorite song it was called the sound of silence. The reason why I said was my dads favorite song was because he past away when I was about 3 years and every thought of him I cry because he saved me from death. He saved me from a swarm or wasps I could've died but if it weren't for my dad I would've been dead it's fair only to feel this pain. The memories the faults, one of the only good things he did was save me and I have to repay him for the good deed he did, I will never forget that day.
