bass players should throw ALL picks away. They arent necessary. Especially for CCM music!

I see that its still against the law in CCM music to have a bass line involving more than one note at a time, and a drum beat that is not a straight rock beat.

Contemporary Christian Music is not about a crazy busy bass line. The purpose for this is to give the song room to breathe. And to give Holy Sprit room to minister. It’s Worship not a Rock Concert. I’ve been playing Worship Bass for 23 years. And before that I played different clubs on the Sunset Strip. It’s obvious I never made it. Lol. Playing Worship Bass is all about being a part of ushering Gods people into his very presence. And sure I throw in my little runs and licks. But it’s not about me. It’s about Jesus. So put your Pride away and strap up for your Audience of ONE.

Your videos are helping me so much and you are an incredible bass player, I know this is a big ask and probably sounds ungrateful but could you put a link somewhere showing how to play any videos you posted a while ago that don't have tabs at the bottom. I want to play them but it takes me a very long time to figure out what you have just played. Thanks a bunch and keep up the good work. :)

Sometimes I wonder why there's even a bass player in a CCM band?
@genshinslime3584

So the whole thing around the bad is that there are different roles for the different instruments In this case, bass gives rhythm and beat Drums give beat Piano gives the sound rhythm And etc Hope that helped 😅

¡Gracias por contactarnos! Son las notas correctas. Utilicé la pista de bajo oficial para transcribir las líneas de bajo. Esto es casi idéntico al registro oficial.

there is more than 1 string on a bass btw
@WorshipTeamResources

Correct. However, I intentionally chose to play on the lower strings to get a fatter-punchier tone, and also to achieve the same slides between notes that the original recording has. Its especially necessary on this bass due to the strings being a very light gauge.
@landonmatthew

you wanted a thick tone and thick slides that’s dope. i like it. i wonder what it would be like to have a heavy gauge D and super heavy G string

I switch back and forth between finger style and pick in this one to achieve different tones. Check Verse 3 for a pick example, then back to finger style at the chorus for that deeper tone.

@@WorshipTeamResources what part of the hand do you keep the pick in when you go back to finger style?
@WorshipTeamResources
3 жыл бұрын
@@seanbusch9018 I'll generally hold it with my pinky and ring finger. I try to keep one in my back pocket though, in case I drop it. In my bass cover of Lion and the Lamb, I actually did drop one, but I had a spare in my pocket, so I was able to switch before missing a note.

if only there were 3 more strings you could play instead of having to slide a mile both ways across the fret board
