On Day 2 of the Gloucester Loop, we revisited Curricabark, a favourite area from a previous trip. We rode up the Thunderbolts and then turned left to explore the scenic Curricabark Rd. The next part of the journey was on Nowendoc Rd, which offered an interesting and undulating path through the valley between mountain ranges. The road surface mostly consisted of embedded gravel on a firm base.
Next, we took Cells Rd to reach Tapin Tops National Park. The road on Kerriki Forest Rd was steep and twisty, making it a challenging route, but we managed to reach the Dingo Tops Campground, where we enjoyed a relaxing and picturesque area with cooler temperatures.
Heading down the recently graded Dingo Tops Rd, we made our way to Wingham before taking the back route back to Gloucester via Nowendoc Rd, Tiri Rd, and Bundook. The entire loop covered around 320km, with about 200km on dirt and gravel roads. Despite the tiring ride, the perfect winter weather, starting cold and ending warm, made it another great day of adventure.
