As a very fair person I can not emphasis ENOUGH how much using color correcting for redness on my face has CHANGED MY LIFE lol… but I think color correcting for any given need will have the same effect. Certain looks that fell in line with all my essences, season etc you name it would still feel off, until I started using a good green color correcting primer for my face. All of a sudden my eyes popped, my makeup all fell into place, my hair color became more flattering, my clothing pieces worked… LIFE CHANGING

Without having watched the whole video yet I just had to tell you that it's baffling to me how someone who looks like you could think they don't look pretty. Like, I know we all go through phases and sometimes we don't like our style for example, that's normal. But you are so pretty, always :) I guess it just goes to show that our own perception can sometimes be so distorted.

She really is! But... she's also done several years of study and work to analyze/find her best colors, best makeup, best hair color, best lighting, best fit in clothing, etc. She's always been beautiful, but she's put in the effort so that her natural beauty stands out and there aren't any distractions. That's what she's teaching us.

I want to tell you a story: When I was a teen, I stumbled upon a influencer and I was so obsessed with her. She looked perfect in my eyes and I wanted to be just like her. But we look NOTHING alike. She's tall, has wide hips, big boobs and her face is more siren like. I would take pictures and edit my face and body, thinking about what surgeries I could have to look more like her. Fast forward to 2021, when I would literally buy the same clothing items as her and be so upset that it didnt look the same. I was already in the Kibbe rabbit hole but couldn't figure out my ID. Eventually, I settled on FG. And that girl is probably a Dramatic or Flamboyant Natural. So of course I wasn't able to recreate her looks. I stopped following her for a while now and I've been more intrigued by people who kind of look like me. It made me appreciate myself much more and I prefer being unique than being a carbon copy of someone else. This is just an example of how these systems helped me see myself and like it. It also helped with my impulsive shopping

I love this!!! It’s so practical! Tysm for this, it can feel like we have to spend a lifetime on style. And we can if it’s fun but there’s no need. We don’t all need to be stylists or makeup artists etc, getting some basics right goes such a long way. The rest of the comment is about options instead of makeup and why I love your advice for colour 💖 I know makeup can teach a lot, I agree it’s good advice! But there might be others like me who know what suits them and still don’t enjoy wearing it? Or people who can’t wear it for any reason. One suggestion is to pick either something unfamiliar that you’re curious about or something you love but want to narrow down in future, or need to narrow down for the sake of your wallet. My other suggestion is accessories even though they don’t all focus on the face. Makeup and accessories are both fairly changeable and for many people they’re either a finishing touch or a very creative part of style so I think they can help us learn in similar ways! Trusting your instincts on colour is such sensible advice. I know colour theories aim for harmony but some people aren’t happy that way. It wouldn’t give the effect they want! And some people just want a few safe colours to stick too, this is a smart way to find them. In reality colour can also be complicated by preference, job, location and more but sticking to your instincts would probably account for other factors. Tbh I wish I’d done this! Trying to find my season sent me off track before it gave me answers and it was time consuming

Every sub-season has its neutrals although it’s not always easy to find them (I think I’m bright spring too). If you search bright spring corporate palette you should find quite a few options? A pop of colour near the face helps more than I expected and I’ve found it useful to use colours as if they’re neutrals, you do have to choose wisely but I find most of our blues and greens safe enough! You might also find that removing other difficulties frees you up to focus on colour? I have fit issues that eliminate most clothing so I’ve found it helpful to start altering clothes (or you can pay for alterations) because it minimises that problem when I’m shopping. If you don’t mind dying things that might also be an option? You can find most things in white and I’ve also been able to dye winter coloured things a bit warmer so I can wear them. And sometimes for practicality’s sake I compromise on colour. As long as I don’t stray too far it’s not that bad, personally I wear some other spring or bright winter colours but it might be different for others. I also find warm or dark autumn colours okay because even though they’re not good it’s not my worst (summer or the soft sub-seasons) and people expect autumn tones for redheads so no one really notices. I just avoid autumn lipstick-like colours unless I have a matching lipstick because you can really see how the greyness has drained colour from my lips by comparison and it makes me look ill. There’s probably colours you can wear because they’re expected, it’s not good but at least you blend in. Wearing colours that make you stand out and look bad is the worst!!! I consider avoiding that a passing grade 😂
@Soldrakenn
27 күн бұрын
@@EmL-kg5gn yeah, thank you that's great advice. I also have some fit issues, and I have considered customizing my clothes, I just haven't got there yet... But I probably should. Actually bright spring is one of the widest color pallets and we can wear so many colors, I suppose its just that 'I would like' to wear more of the bright ones :) and the summer pallet have been super fashionable for years, and I really can't wear those colors at all, they wash me out so badly... Tbh I've been seriously considering making my own clothes, so I've ordered some fabric and all, but it's hard to find the time 😅 I'm quite tall and not skinny, so I pull larger sizes, it's har to find anything that fit me well.

I’ll give this a go. I had a m£dical £mergency recently and my eyes are red and will be for the next couple weeks, I’m covered in bruises and scars, I have only bathed once since it happened (need assistance) and have basically worn the same pair of shorts and 3 tops. I thoroughly ugly.
@ladywytch129
23 күн бұрын
Sending prayers for a speedy recovery, and gentle hugs. You are not ugly. You are in a terrible spot physically and need time to recover. If you can't bathe, try a sponge bath. You can sit and not worry about the tub. Wash your hair in the kitchen sink...you can lean and hang on to the counter and not go sliding around trying to hunch over the tub. It's tricky but doable. You just have to figure out how to make it work for you in your situation. After my stroke, before I got the bench for the shower, I did everything at my bedside. I had two plastic jugs for warm water (big handles so easy to carry) and a plastic storage tote. I used one jug for washing up, and one for washing my hair as I leaned over the tote. I was nowhere near as nice as a shower, but I felt good afterwards. Some lotion and clean pajamas and I was human again! You can do it. Just look outside the box, and don't rush it. If it takes an hour, it takes an hour. But it's all about your needs, and what you are able to do at any given moment ❤
