the unit of the Km value of GluT2 is suppose to be mM, not nm, right? :)

Km for GLUT is around 15-20 mM, but not nm :)

Glut 2 should have Km of 15-20mM. (Also, a Km of 1mM is not 'low', it's actually very high for a typical protein/enzyme, but glucose is at an even higher concentration in the blood at 5mM).

what is the structure and function of GLUT 4 in viruses and cells? Also include its location, Effect on the cell/virus when the protein is damaged or missing and Other Proteins or Structures GLUT 4 Interacts With ! That would be so very helpful thank you!

Thanks for the information. I use the Ambrosia Blucon with FreeStyle Libre sensor, It helps me to get constant readings on my Apple Watch and iPhone, the alarms help me at night. It is a much more reliable and accurate cgm with a low cost.

Is secondary active transport that use the energy coming from substance going down its concentration gradient to drive the transport of other substance up its concentration gradient. Both substances move same direction: symport Both substances move opposite direction: anti port

How the rate of diffusion of glucose through GLUT transpoter does not significantly depends on concentration???
@user-if6fm8ng5i
3 жыл бұрын
He said before glucose is polar and so it cannot enter by diffusion But I think we the glut are present there high concentration of glucose out of the cell activates the glut

so when insulin releases so why not the liver cells take that extra glucose why the msucle and adipose tissue do ? if once the threshold reach to 15mM so insulin so it has to be that the remaining glucose should enter into liver not to muscle and adipose can anyoone plz clear my problem?
@user-if6fm8ng5i

It is absorbed by both in this case because GLUT 2 and4 have low affinity so after the threshold they both transport glucose

but 17nmol is much lower than 1 mmol..so the affinity has to be higher. there has to be a mistake
@martinjonsson9702

firstly it is milliMolar, not millimole, since it is a concentration and not a amount. Further he must has had said wrong. He must have meant 17mM with the explanation following.
