Gluteus medius pain is perceived as lower back pain, sacrum pain, buttock pain and hip joint pain.
The pain can be caused by pelvic imbalance e.g., due to leg length difference (shorter leg), bad standing posture, sitting too low, sports accidents (e.g., tennis), etc.
