A disposable vehicle; ditch this before warranty expires, wet timing belt will initiate it’s demise. GM could have learned from Ford’s mistake, reliability of a Vega. Chevrolet knew this when you can no longer get a GM extended warranty. The only good thing going for it is a 6 speed automatic; soon they’ll cut cost with a CVT as they emulate the Rogue.

If they had a KIA warranty ... but a nice vehicle for the class. The turbo replacement will be an issue. At $26k there's some others i'd consider.

30 mpg combined seems mediocre at best for a 1.2 liter 3 cylinder. Next time they should go with a turbocharged Briggs & Stratton.

It definitely has the Corolla price of about 5 years ago. With the Corolla costing maybe 25k or so depending on your haggling skills, you still get the Toyota reliability. But this new platform hasn’t been out long so you can’t guarantee the reliability. I know what I’d do with my money.

The Trax is sort of an engineering marvel in that they're able to give you all that stuff and features for 25k and under. Only issue is that stuff and features comes at the cost of quality and reliability, as all that technology you get might not always work well, plus the engine and underbody might not hold up long-term. It's a nice car, it's just a matter of if I'd take that chance reliability wise, and I'm unsure I would.

Thank you for another great review. I grew up in the late 60s-early 80s and all of my family drove chevrolets. No hatred for other brands its just what suited us. I understand the reason/s (mainly money) that automakers use other countries to build their parts, but its a pretty sad day when only 2% of this CHEVROLET comes from the USA or Canada. What gripes me most about chevy/gm is they took great car names like malibu/blazer/monte carlo etc. and slapped them on vehicles that look/perform nothing like the originals. I believe that they should have stuck with original body styles/engines and kept refining them instead of starting with a blank sheet of paper every 2-3 years. I'm still a chevy man, meanwhile the nissan frontier i now drive keeps plugging along. Just an opinion... thanks again.
