Holden sent me this video - a pretty openly biased comparative review by the legendary Evan Green, just a few years prior to his passing - along with a large brochure over 20 years ago. As a 13 year old, I watched it countless times and it was a major factor behind my becoming a Holden enthusiast to this day.
The Holden Jackaroo was regarded highly by the media upon its 1992 launch, including a class-leading 3.2 litre 24 valve V6 engine. In sales, however, it failed to hurt the popularity of its Mitsubishi rival. With only relatively minor updates, it remained on sale for about 10 years.
In overseas markets, the Jackaroo was known by many names and under many badges including Chevrolet, Opel, Vauxhall, Subaru, Honda and Acura. However, its maker was the Japanese truck manufacturer Isuzu, hence it is ultimately a rebadged Isuzu Trooper.
