I agree, although I'd prefer if they went a little bit more detailed. I think Bill is probably hesitant to call out other coaches (say, for bad schemes, which are not uncommon in Chicago and Atlanta, in particular!) and maybe even go too hard on players, given that he'll probably be in the coaching market again next year. So we get some broad "this is the intent of the play and what should happen" and "but the quarterback didn't do that / and the quarterback did a nice job doing that" ... but that's about it. I like the coach room episode 1 a bit better-discussing the history of the west coast offense.

Yea it’s good content but why are they wasting time going over each players avg. yards per game, their TD-INT ratio, and their W/L record? None of those should really matter at all when evaluating a college QB. Those basic stats are useless without context. The film is what matters not stupid elementary stats. That’s how guys like Bryce Young somehow get vaulted to the top pick. “hE wOn AlOt Of GaMeS”

@@aerodynamicccc those stats are worth reading and then throwing away. Truly. For 3 years, the general, uneducated public thought Jimmy Garopollo was an elite QB because he had a highly winning record. But the only people that really knew how to analyze QBs, namely Chris Simms, were trying to tell everyone that JG wasn’t that good. It was the team and the scheme that was carrying him. Those basic stats tell us nothing about the ability of the player without context. It just doesn’t and these guys should know better than that. I almost wonder if they’re just including that because they know they’re gonna attract some viewers that are basic and don’t really know football

I think a lot of coaches get in trouble after games. It's an emotional time and they can get in trouble evaluating games. The best coaches will be honest and differ some questions to the next day and some like Bill won't give you anything at all and say that everybody on the other team are great.

Bill's terse responses usually had something to do with: 1. Protecting the team, he never wanted to air team conflicts over the air. 2. His decision making, mostly these are judgemental and he made a choice - get over it. 3. Stupid reporter questions. 4. Putting bad games behind him. No reason for him to dwell on problems. 5. Never wanting to give to much credit or too much blame - because deep down its a team game. He would keep saying T-E-A-M. 6. Questions outside his expertise. Will he play? Don't ask me it's the doctor's decision. 7. Post game questions - he hadn't watched the film yet or analyzed what happened. Bill has no obligation to give inside information about his strategy, or his personell. Reporters dig for muck, he's under no obligation to provide them with the muck they want. If a player performed poorly would you want your boss airing it in public? Bill understands football more than probably any other human - do you really expect him to explain to a reporter why he did what he did in twenty seconds.

I want this to be required viewing material to all of the Patriots fans pushing for Maye to start. I understand the excitement about some of the splash throws we saw and all of that. The talent is there, but he must be brought along correctly and with patience. Also, to everyone who thinks Maye would win more games than Brissett: GOOD. Let's get some losses (wth, Cinci) and draft either of the top LTs this season, and if Maye would be better than Brissett this year, he'll be a heck of a lot better next year with another 12 months of experience, some new pieces to support him, and some seasoning for the young lineman and receivers drafted this year. The only downside is losing some tread on Rhamondre's tires, as they'll likely run him into the ground this year, but let's give Drake Maye a chance to recognize his talent and potential by spending this year learning how to be a professional QB, so that when he's called to start, he does so like a pro.
