Wow. Didn't know all the p.i.a. details involved. Actually makes me want one even more. How sick is that. =)

Very sick, lol. Honestly that's the only issue I've run into, but it sucked more because I didn't expect it. If I did it again I would install the motor before the tranny went in, and put gorilla tape over the nut slots to capture them in place. Thanks! -"Angry" Dave

I always liked the 46' CJ3a my grand dad actually had one an actual Korean War time Jeep and the saw back really isn't that far off to cut it like the real thing cool build brother and good tip on rounding corners so the body doesn't Crack I needed to know that so, thank you

Very nice. I thought about the Sawback a while back. Wasn't sure about the leaf spring setup and the battery in the back. They look awesome when they are done regardless. Looking forward to your finished product. Cheers!

Thanks! It'll be a Trail Rig for sure. You can get extreme performance from leaf springs, but it takes a lot. So far, the only platform with enough part support that I'm aware of is the TF2. But if you know what to expect and operate accordingly, they can be a ton of fun. There appears to be enough room up front for a small pack, I may make another tray up there. Check out AC RC Crawlers for some great Sawback videos until I have more. Thanks again! -"Angry" Dave

The ESC plate makes a decent battery tray. You have to remove the "engine" cover or chop it in half, but it puts the batt in a nice spot. I was able to fit a Traxxas 7-cell NiMH on it, held down by two loops of inner tube tied round the frame rails, though I wasn't using the original body so I'm not sure it'd fit.
