You probably would’ve be able to use the rear speakers since they clamp to the ROPS system.

How does the four channel amp power the four 6.5 speakers AND the sub?

The TM400X4 is a 4-channel amplifier stable to 2-ohms per channel. The front & rear speakers run off channels 1&2 and the subwoofer is bridged on channels 3&4.

My 2021 general xp 4 ride command stage 4,hasn't worked since delivered in November as amp blew when turned key on in my driveway. Something is definitely wrong at Polaris factory installation because service dept. Said they have ordered 4more amps that were defective since ordering my replacement amp. Please investigate as many customers know Rockford fosgate should sound awesome. Thank you and merry Christmas

@@rockfordfosgate Each RM1652B speaker is rated at 75W RMS 4-Ohm and the sub is 200W RMS 2-Ohm. The TMX400X4ad is rated at 4 channels 100W RMS each at 2-Ohm. If you have four RM1652B speakers of 4-Ohm each, running off 2 channels(channel 1&2), the speakers become 2-Ohms each so 50W RMS power is delivered to each speaker instead of a possible 75 RMS each. Furthermore you loose either left-right Balance capability or front-rear FADE capability. For the sub, since it is bridged off two 100W RMS channels (channels 3&4), you get a full 200W RMS (100W+100W) power delivered to your 10" sub (which is rated at 200W RMS). So you're getting full power capability of the sub but not the "Sub" signal coming from the radio, instead it is the left-right signal from the radio. Am I correct? I am currently buying a 2021 Polaris General XP 4 1000 and looking into adding the Stage 4 option. On the other hand I am currently uncertain about this since the reviews about this kit are not great. I am thinking this might be due to the amp vs speakers configuration or literraly the Polaris installation crew under trained and not setting up the kit correctly, i.e. doing the clipping config, adjusting gain correctly, bridging the sub before putting it in the enclosure, etc...

Hi @rebeccaweber2692, did you by chance use the Amp Tuning Guide when setting up the amplifier? We have this available free on our website here: www.rockfordfosgate.com/rnt/rnw/docs/1356/amptuning_polarisgeneral_2016-2018.pdf

@@rebeccaweber2692 O.K. sounds like you have the Polaris version of the Rockford Fosgate audio system which is different than this aftermarket system video.

@@rebeccaweber2692 The factory equipped version is a closed-loop system that is limited to the BASS control on the source unit. However, if you have Ride Command, check to make sure it's updated to the latest software. There was a version of Ride Command that greatly decreased the output of the audio system when Polaris made changes to the DSP. You can check for the latest version of Ride Command here: ridecommand.polaris.com/en-us/app/display/

I understand the subwoofer mounting location is the same spot as the Polaris heater. How difficult would it be to relocate the subwoofer to another area of the vehicle. Is it just extending a couple wires to another location?

Hi Jason, the enclosure is very custom formed to fit the shape of that space and it's unlikely to be installed in any other location. We wouldn't recommend it.

heater kit prob not going to be easy.. you might need to cut some plastic and relocate it.

My Polaris dealer said they sometimes relocate the subwoofer to below the drivers seat. it’s really frustrating that heater and the subwoofer occupy the same space. Then again, I didn’t even know my system had a subwoofer because it really doesn’t seem to change the sound quality much, wondering if it’s underpowered and I’m better off w/o it.

@@johnjayberger make sure you install all the ride command software updates. The updates really wake up the sound system. I really like the sub and sound quality now. I hated it when I bought my machine.
