Very cool! I just discovered GO and I like it... thanks for showing how to create Lambdas with it! Can't wait to try this. :-)

The ID looks like a GUID instead of a float as it comes from Request ID. But I may have missed something.

For anyone following this who keeps getting a 'BrokenImport" error after you 'go get github...' you must add a mod to your VSC file for this to work. 'go mod init package_name' and then 'go mod tidy' and then you should be all squared away.

Why would you use a float as an ID?

Interesting. In the AWS system I'm not told that it doesn't support my architecture (arm64) until after I have given them all my information. At least with Postman there is a Chrome Extension which seems to work just fine. It's depreciated but... at least it still exists. Sigh. Oh well. At least I now know that AWS is of no use to me at the moment.

The reason you can’t use in-line editor with Go is because it’s compiled into a binary executable, whereas languages like Python are interpreted which enable you to use the inline editor.

Hi !! Thank you for this great video. I have question regarding to a scenario when my lamda go fuction will be getting tiggered 10 million requests per second (imaginary) and will i be making a http call to another server. So as lamda is server less it will scale automatically with respect to the load. Moreover , as the function is written in go which is going to make an http call. Do I have to use goroutine there as well ? so that it can handle as many request as it can and once its done will tell lamda to scale you so that it can handle more request. Please guide me, If my understanding is wrong or correct.

Hey, can you help out? I am running into the following error "main.go:5:9: cannot find package "github.com/aws/aws-lambda-go/lambda" in any of: /usr/local/Cellar/go/1.11.2/libexec/src/github.com/aws/aws-lambda-go/lambda (from $GOROOT)"

Hi Amos, this looks like it hasn't been able to see the required package - github.com/aws/aws-lambda-go/labmda. Try running "go get github.com/aws/aws-lambda-go/lambda" from your terminal and retry compiling. I hope this helps!

Thanks :) Running the command "go get -u github.com/aws/aws-lambda-go/cmd/build-lambda-zip" has fixed the issue

Hey buddy, love your style of teaching. It would be good to get a full course working with say Nextjs or Svelte that covers a full small Golang Fiber API app that includes authentication, crud and realtime sockets. Also include hosting and deployment for both backend and frontend portions. A mini series with a basic todolist with a chat func would be a amazing. Thoughts?
