There is a lot to see and do around Chacapoyas, Peru and one of the main tourist attractions is the sarcophogi called 'Karajia'. These are hard to see up close, but if you want go somewhere off the tourist track and see sarcophogi from the Chacapoya culture, definitely go to the Sarcophagos de Tigre in a small village call San Jeronimo. It's a beautiful trek through mixed terrain and you are reward with a close-up view of approximately a dozen small sarcophogi. The trek itself is worth the visit.
