Goal Seek in Excel - If you know the result that you want from a formula, but are not sure what input value the formula needs to get that result, use the Goal Seek feature.
Input cells are the cells you type numbers in. Example, units sold, price and cost would be input cells.
You may type the following (these are input cells):
Units Sold 100
Price 10
Cost 4
Dependent cells are your formulas or answers. Revenue would be 100 x $10. Expenses would be 100 x $4. In Excel, you would reference the cells. Example: =B2*B3.
