The real life Spartans were actually famous for these kind of short, powerful remarks. These are called laconicisms, after Laconia, the region around Sparta. I think it's a pretty neat detail to Kratos's character.

Another of my favorites is the one that came from a Spartan Queen in response to someone visiting asking her “Why do the women in Sparta get treated better then all the other women in Greece?” The Queen simply responded “because Spartan women make Spartan men”. She wasn’t wrong. In Spartan culture, the only two kinds of people who got marked graves upon death were those who died in war, or those who died during childbirth. Spartan women also had the equal right to vote in Sparta. So it wasn’t a Queen bragging, but simply explaining the way that Spartans thought. “Women help make more men, more men means more soldiers, therefore women are just as important.” There’s obviously more reasons that women are important, but for a society mainly known for their warfare, it’s really cool to see them take on that form of thinking and it leading to them being more progressive than others in that regard

Honestly, if more people took the time to take in what Kratos was saying, the game would be a lot more peaceful. Had Thor listened to him earlier, he would've known as a "destroyer", he can make the difference. If Baldur had listened, he wouldn't of driven Kratos to kill him to save Freya, he had a new lease on life. If Heimdall took Kratos' mercy, he would've let him live. People don't wanna hear him out

under-statement to be exact. The dead Giant in Midgard is smaller than Chronos or Hecatonchreis. I mean their nails is the size of tennis court and Kratos used it as Arena... and Kratos are only few pixel big when he's squashed between two finger of Chronos. Kratos probably looked at Jormundgandr and think "Puny snake" in his head

@@ninazarmerk2722 That was the thinking. Initially, I tried speeding it up 3x, but it lasted too long. I had to max out the fast forward edit so that it was a similar length to the other clips. The speed is 8x.

And at the Hot Gates when them Persians demanded the Greeks to lay down their weapons, Leonidas said to them to try come and get it. There is a Leonidas statue in Sparta (I think) that basically says to come and try take their weapons. And iirc some Union soldiers also said the phrase when the Confederacy wanted to make them surrender during the Civil War.

Kinda badass but at the same time it was really arrogant and led to their downfall if I remember it correctly. The king of Macedonia, who was Alexander the Great's father, was that king in question and in retaliation really did attack them and the Spartans came under their yoke. (Correct if I'm wrong)

The great thing about this line is that it's said by someone who actually walked the talk. Kratos literally dies and brute force his way up from Hades thrice. Death literally failed to keep him thrice
