I remember hearing this at the beginning of the game and thinking, “man what a beautiful rendition.” Then it plays again at the end credits and you realize what this song truly means to the story of this game, it makes me cry every time.

I sang an a capella version of this song at my mother’s celebration of life because she always loved The Beach Boys, and always wanted to go to the ocean. And, when we gave her ashes to the ocean, it was perfect. I know she appreciates it

Bro this song, I knew when I heard it, that this game, or more like franchise, was truly one of a kind, something I’ve always thought about is how probable it is that one of the many red shirts who are slaughtered in the battle between Columbia, the Vox, and Booker and Elizabeth could have been a member of this quartet, maybe even all of them are dead by game end, it really made me reflect on the games message and how beliefs like that of comstocks can cause so much collateral damage

for me, it's a song about elisabeth and the songbird (or big daddy and little sister). Make sense, right? haha :3
@MariaGonzalez-fw2dj
8 жыл бұрын
+Gabriel Cabral It makes sense. I however, interpreted it to be between Booker and Elizabeth. Because Elizabeth's existence was drastically changed by Booker busting her out of that tower. And also, the part of the song where it says, "And if you should ever leave me, though life would still go on, believe me, the world could show nothing too me. So what good would living do me." I feel that its towards Booker because after he gave away Liz, he kinda fell into that sort of 'depression/regret'. BUT IDK...I'm ranting now...

It's about Booker going so crazy without his daughter that he becomes a firebrand conservative cult leader who hired crackpot scientists to tear the fabric of spacetime apart and drive himself crazy just to get her back.
@jeremiahlakstins1281

@spuriouslathos2518 not quite, the Booker DeWitt that became Comstock never had children and never gave away his daughter. He was made infertile by the Lutece's machine, so he went to Booker's universe and stole his daughter so he'd have an heir.
