This is quite possibly the most complete PC case in the history of PC cases. The front USB header cable problem is an issue but easily fixed with a 90 degree adapter. Great job Phanteks but this is too big so I'll wait for the NV5. And great review as always and the build is amazeballs.

There's so much to like about this case lineup. I was originally planning on an NV9 build, but looking at posts online the compatability with E-ATX boards is just not there, which is deeply unfortunate. There's also just short of room for 4x 3.5" drives, another slight miss for me.

Originally wanted to do a build in a Lancool 3, with 3x360 30mm radiators and Phantek T30 fans, but sadly this wont fit with a 240mm Distro. This looks like a far better option, while not taking up much more space. I am thinking of 2x360 (top and bottom) + 240 rear radiator setup, with a 360 distro like you. Did you use the rubber grommets to attach the Alphacool distro, or did you mod it? Also: one of the best builds I have seen (and I am NOT saying this lightly).

Looks awesome! Slightly concerned over reports that the QC on their new fans is bad. One user has posted images of their D30's showing the gaps to be misaligned for where the connection clips go, meaning that the fans cannot get any power, both for lightning and speed. Out of 12 fans bought, 5 are DOA. That's not acceptable!
@Frozoken
Жыл бұрын
You don't have to buy their fans, the d30's never seemed that appealing to me after looking at their specs. If you're still looking, I can recommend silverstone's shark force fans which are better all around in performance and noise to performance although there's no reverse version or interconnect, although they have detachable cables and can be daisy chained and they're still argb. There's also 140mm variants too. Oh yeah, it also has standard connects and no bloatware either

Hmm... the angled bottom radiator mount is a neat idea, but this case just seems strange to me. The motherboard position seems to mean that if you have any kind of a radiator at the bottom, or even just fans, you won't be able to use expansion slots in the motherboard for any kind of cards apart from the graphics card slot. It also looks like there's no vertical mount option for the graphics card because that wouldn't work with the bottom mount. Considering how much space there from the top of the case to the top of the motherboard this just seems badly thought out to me. The back side of the case is the bast part IMO, with the drive doors and cable management. But yeah, I watched this video looking back and forth between this and the Phanteks Evolv X on my desktop and I think the Evolv X is a much better case. It lets you have 360mm rads in front and at the top, and neither even come close to interfering with the motherboard, even with an old school pump and res combo attached to the front. The NV7 just seems that they tried to make the 3 positions for 360mm rads work even though the bottom mount compromises the mainboard and if you have top and bottom rads the back rad mount isn't usable for that purpose anyway. Maybe if there is an NV9 that is about 10cm taller these issues wouldn't be issues at all.
@GGFEvents
Жыл бұрын
Evolve X? That case doesn't even come close. That dies even have a bottom rad support. Look at nearly all the O11s. The motherboard just about sits in the bottom. You seem to have been out do the loop for a long time
@chimpboy12345
Жыл бұрын
@@GGFEvents The lack of bottom radiator mount in the Evolv X was kind of my point. Because there's two positions for radiators in that case, front and top, there isn't compromises caused by trying to make a third. I still have 720mm of radiator and an old school pump res combo, and none of it gets in the way of each other or the motherboard. One of the other commenters here said he was planning to do a triple 360 rad build in this. I'd be curious to see how he gets on, because it looks like a mission.

@@chimpboy12345 720mm of slim rads. The evolv x is a very small case that really struggles with thick rads and eatx mobos. 3x 360s would be no issues at all. I don't see the issue or your problem to why you're comparing this to your old evolv x
