Hey Manuela, Please be careful whilst applying scripture. It must be applied in context otherwise people may be lead astray. In Gen 12, God called Abraham to leave his country. In verse 2-3 of the same chapter, God promised Abraham: “And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” God’s calling of Abraham had nothing to do with him being a “businessman” like you imply. God was exercising His sovereignty. It was not based on Abraham’s merit. In fact Abraham was a pagan from Haran. Isaac and Jacob had the same promise in Gen 26 and 28. None of these men were deserving of God’s calling. Abraham was a pagan when God called him, Jacob stole Esau’s birth rite. The fact that they were blessed with many possessions and how they accumulated those possessions has never been the point of those stories. Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are the patriarchs through whom Israel and all nations would be blessed. This blessing finds its ultimate fulfillment in Christ. Gal 3:8-9 says; “And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying, “In you shall all the nations be blessed.” So then, those who are of faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.” Yes they had great possessions, servants, animals etc but the conclusion that God elected business men first to change the world misses the point of God’s covenant in Genesis.

I didn't say God used Abraham BECAUSE he was a business man, I said God used Abraham WHO WAS a business man......hope you notice the difference and therefore understand the context.

@@manuelap.mulondo I suspect the issue is any insinuation that Abraham's call had anything to do with his wealth or even 'business acumen.' Because it did not. If you were not trying to make such a point, then I think your statements could have been better framed.

@@manuelap.mulondo Actually you did insinuate it. Look back at 1:54 God did not look for a business man God looked for a faithful man. You also mention at 0:32 that the bible talks about their wealth so much But not as much as their sin and their faithfulness to God and that is the Subject Matter here. Why did they have land? God had promised them land. Not because they were business men. I will address the fact you had it from " An Apostle" next time. Thank you.

Mrs. Mulondo, please note that your scripture interpretation is off and most definitely misleading! The Genesis story is not about Self made business men and God vulnerably using them. Not at all! The God of the bible is not like our former ancestoral gods who is at the mercy of what we do or don't do! The bible is God'story and it is about the Sovereign God who has a redemption plan to save sinful souls from sin, death and darkness into his marvelous light of the Gospel and Genesis points/yields to this unfolding plan. Business men?! Absolutely not! The wealth of the patriarchs is besides the point, not to mention that it was God-given! Let's look at Genesis 12. Why does God call Abraham? Genesis 12:2-3 ESV [2] And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. [3] I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” LOOK AT MATTHEW 1:1 The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham. God begins to work through Abraham so that eventually through his lineage, the Savior of the world, Jesus is born and salvation will come to us the Gentiles( the rest of the world). Please rethink what you are sharing, my dear sister.

I am confused, I only stated Abraham's occupation, which I had never realised so I am wondering where all the side notes came from? 🤔 God used multiple occupations; 1. Joseph a carpenter 2. David, a shepherd 3. Rahab, a prostitute 4. Moses, a shepherd 5. Peter, a fisherman 6. Paul, a tentmaker 7. Ruth, a gleaner 8. Deborah, a judge 9. Daniel, a slave 10. Nehemiah, a cupbearer 11. Lydia, a merchant 12. Matthew, a tax collector 13. Amos, a fig tree farmer 14. Luke, a physician 15. Martha, a homemaker 16. Gideon, a farmer 17. Boaz, a farmer 18. Elijah, a prophet 19. Anna, a prophetess 20. Gomer, a prostitute 21. And so many more including ABRAHAM A BUSINESS MAN

Oooooooooh this makes sense.....now I get it! I was extremely confused with all the side notes; it was as if any of the scriptural side notes changed the fact that he was a business man. 🤔

@@manuelap.mulondo, you start with focusing on the wealth of Abraham which you blatantly extra-biblically pull out of the text to say, God saw this man'skill to make money for himself and used him. You even twist it to say how businessmen existed before prophets, kings etc You call that the main point. The role of business men which you highlight Is not the center point of that story in Genesis and elsewhere in scripture. The Scriptures are about Christ and his salvation plan for you and me as I have explained. God using a small unknown pagan man Abraham out of his country for his mission is the.main point! It is not Abraham the business man making God look good. You have got it twisted. It is a Holy Gracious God working out his plan while using weak and feeble men who he makes great as and when he chooses. Their vocations are beside the point. Ask yourself this. If a non-christian listened to your post, how would it draw them to study the Beauty and glory of God's eternal plan in Christ to save them from their sin in the scriptures? Blessings!🙏

Please understand the Context,God is dimensional not limited.those people in the bible are systems, nations,Kingdoms not just humans God didnt just focus on priesthood only remember Daniel was a scholar,a cabinet in politics for he served 5 kings Joseph was a prime minister David was a priest and King Nehemiah a cup bearer, leader Deborah a priest, battle advisor Job a wealthy businessman Stop limiting God,.God is King,Father, great warrior,Creator,Healer,provider...,God uses everyone

"Kings and Priests". What this means in the Bible is that we rule physically and spiritually. We are all priests individually, with our own altars. And then there are pastors, apostles etc. But their work is to bring the lost sheep back to the way, truth and life. A life similar to Abraham's. Abraham, Isaac and Jacob were priests in their own right. Abraham is referred to as the altar builder by our generation, meaning he was a priest. Created to be managers (rulers) on earth.
Correction Abraham was a prophet according to Genesis 20:1-7......i think before sharing first read the facts since you are sharing something you heard from an "apostle" but you never verified if that is what the scripture actually says hence the error. I highly recommand you join a sound bible study group if you don't have any am willing to share one with you. Secondly do not continue with posting about the bible and business because the purpose of scripture is very clear in 2 timothy 3. Please read ko.😊 better if you picked business ideas to share from TED, paul gompers among others like charles rossotti their business resources are ok. Finally dear sister, I Pray that God will have Mercy on us all and open our eyes to the TRUTH of His Word, That our harden hearts will truely repent and turn to Him for the Glory of His Name. #Repent, Believe in the Gospel.
