Normally people use the input function to deal with inputs from the user, a lot of bugs can happen if you don't understand exactly how the input function is being called and used, here we will clearly define the differences with using the Input singleton vs using the InputEvent from the input function. Also as a bonus we will cover how to use state machines to filter inputs as you want, this should get rid of any bugs you have with detecting and using inputs with Godot 4.
