"Sunset on Third Street - two"? Wasn't " Sunset on Third Street" a movie starring Buddy Ebsem, Carey Grant, Patricia O'Neill, and Audrey Hepburn? And, Godzilla was in the sequel? I know Godzilla is supposed to be an hermaphrodite, but writing it into one of these novels or movies doesn't seem like Truman Capote's style.

One time, my dad and watched the original 1954 Godzilla movie (and I'm talking about the Japanese version, but with English subtitles- NOT the westernized version), and we both really enjoyed it. The part where Godzilla first shows up ACTUALLY CAUGHT ME BY SURPRIZE, though not by the way he looked, but rather by how the whole thing was generally presented, especially with the suspense. :)

1:29 to 1:36 I was so emotional that I started to cry because he fought for his son but in the end Destroyah was killed but Godzilla couldn't take it anymore and he started to explode and melt. Long live Heisei Godzilla!!!😭😭

1:40 is my favourite even though Zilla and his debut film is under appreciated its still a hidden gem which I have a faint memory of watching. The scene in question was the baby Zilla’s in the building which later exploded. This boi is badass and though he may not be superior than Godzilla he has the right to be recognised as a member of the Godzilla genus if possible, that will be a day I wish our guy sees

@Kang Tendang I can actually understand the hate as at one point I also did dislike him. He is so different than the Goji we know and love, yet he is also someone that deserves love from the fans as there is so much he has that Godzilla doesn’t have like the ability to dig, speed (though this part can be debated as Godzilla himself has shown himself to be quite agile) and so much more. You should check out Godzilla: The Series which takes place after the 98 film and literally is better than it in someways. The offspring of Zilla -whom is usually called Zilla jr.- has traits of both versions, he can dig and is agile, but can also use the atomic heat ray and IS RESISTANT TO HUMAN WEAPONRY as well as fighting his own birth father who was revived as a cyborg by aliens and he had to choose between his birth father or adoptive father. The show also has excellent human character development and the show is just too awesome to not dislike

At 1.30 is where I just about lost it. Godzilla dying choked me up a bit, but.....as corny/dumb as that sounds......helped me cope with loss at a VERY young age. A LOT was going on at the time, and I couldn't cope. I kept sadness locked in and substituted anger in it's place. That led to other.... disasters, ahem.....so to speak. I told that to Satsuma Sensei when I met him the first time. We talked extensively about Japanese martial arts, and how, that too, helped us tremendously in our daily interactions with people and/or problematic situations. Godzilla's death.... again..as corny as it sounds.....made it ok to let go of things. The joy Kaiju Eiga was a very positive experience that I could drift away to, allthewhile still dealing with things like divorce, abuse, alienation, ridicule, and so on. I DID have a great childhood, despite the aforementioned experiences. And in no way am I saying this to gain a pty party of sorts. I point these out, along with Gojira's demise, to show how much these works of science fiction and genre cinema helped me escape, but also utilize my emotions, as well as have empathy for others like myself. I'll put it this way. Back in the day, nerds were NOT cool. And Godzilla/Kaiju Eiga.....and even Anime (would you believe it?)....were the lowest point on the nerd iceberg. Other nerds would ridicule us. Not because they wanted to, really, but because it took much of the bullying away from them So, finding a Godzilla fan who openly shared interests back in the day was like finding Jimmy Fekkin' Hoffa. It was rare. And forget finding toys or media pre internet. Godzilla stuff was EXTREMELY limited, so it was even harder to be a fan. You just had to be lucky to find a random new Starlog/Fangoria article as to what comes next for Godzilla. (The thrill of the hunt WAS exciting, however, and DID make the journey all that much more worth it. I shit my pants in 1990 after finding a Monsters Attack magazine that talked about G vs. Biollante. My Grandma bought it for me, and I still have it. Love you, Grandma!!) And what was more disheartening was finding "secret" fans that were immensely popular and talked to you like you were a human being. However, the moment anyone else was around, they immediately shunned you. As I grew older, I found a home in the Punk Rock community. So it was like I had friends all along. What was even more awesome, you ask? Lots of Godzilla fans who were "closeted no more"! Finally!. Film fests aty house, going to see Kung Fu movies downtown, finding Godzilla toys through networking, and so on. Then the trips to GFest, since we all lived only 28 miles away!! So many good memories. Hell ...senior year, I found an Akira Ifukube CD, and listened to it as it helped me study for school, as well as train in BJJ. Those were great times as well. Godzilla was just a part of my upbringing, and I didn't have to feel out of place when expressing my love for the genre. I know.... I rambled. I just wanted to see if others felt the way I did to any degree at all. That death scene meant an end of an era for myself and others. Through all of that, I was able to appreciate and respect other people's overall being as well as interests. The Godzilla community has grown one hundred fold within the last 10 years. I love it, but I hate it. However, if I keep that attitude, I'll be the hypocrite. Besides. I don't mind having thousands more potential friends! It couldn't hurt!
