Court takes time. When blacks goto court do you want their cases rushed through without due process? I'm sure you're gonna say they already do. But you'd be wrong. That's why people on death row for decades. No reason to rush justice unless you are ok with the same being done to you and yours. Can't have it both ways.

dandivine let me expound on what I meant, I said “part of the problem” it start at the local level meaning not just voting , it mean community policing, financial literacy education, it means volunteering, Community activism, it means going to Townhall meetings so you see what’s getting voted on then passing that information back to your community. But a person like Shawnee and sooo many others like him don’t believe in anything government which I believe you need government to change the laws, we need someone in the Senate seat to deliver the bills for you. All the yelling and protest does what? you need law makers to write the bill...with all these protest Who’s Writing the list of demands ! ?... ? I’ll wait, who? Who? Just a lot of walking and buildings with broken glass. I wish All this anger could be channeled towards good at Community building, financial literacy education, volunteering. Mayor Frey took the first steps of healing his communities that he presides over as mayor. His transparency will lay a foundation that will allow him and other leaders in Minneapolis to stop the bleeding caused by senseless killings of unarmed citizens. Another facet to assist with stopping the bleeding is accountability. Those individuals whether citizens or public servants must be held accountable for their actions. Their actions should not hold an institution hostage because of a perception of brotherhood. We take care of our own should also include policing your own when they bring negative attention to the organization. The mayor should not be required to reach down layers of leadership in any department to ensure leaders and their subordinates are living up to the oaths they swore to protect and serve. In the case of the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD), leadership starts with the Police Chief Medaria Arradondo. Police Chief Arradondo must take some blame for what happened to George Floyd. He swore to: TO PROTECT WITH COURAGE / TO SERVE WITH COMPASSION He swore to ensure all leaders and subordinates of MPD live up to the designated mission and values. The Minneapolis Police Department is a public safety agency that relies upon these values and behaviors for its effectiveness. • Trust • Accountability • Professional Service • We recognize that public safety is not just the absence of crime; it is the presence of justice. • We are truthful and ethical in all we do, say, and write. • We hold each other accountable. • We build and rely upon trust with our communities. • We do not engage in conduct, public or private, that would sully or shame the department. The death of George Floyd completely goes against the MPD’s motto, mission and values. You must ask yourself as a leader, have I done enough to ensure the people in my charge truly understand our mission and values? Do I truly know the men and women that work for me and do they know me? Have I provided mid-level leaders (precinct commanders) with the tools and training that will allow them to be effective leaders at their level of responsibility? It has been a little over a year since an officer from MPD was sentenced for an incident that took the life of an unarmed civilian. Prior to the sentencing of that officer (Mohamed Noor), the judge stated questions provided by jurors selected for the case. Jurors asked: - Will there be changes / changes are needed? - Will supervisor officers be fired / disciplined? - Is what we saw normal for MPD? - How will this be prevented from happening again? - Why are officers more concerned about their safety than that of the public? Organizations are as good as the men and women that lead them. What type of leadership was provided to correct deficiencies and how were they enforced? My opinion of the situation is that leaders within MPD failed. Their failure and inaction to the questions asked by the jurors from the trial of another MPD officer could have led to the death of George Floyd. Therefore, I believe the MPD Chief of Police must be held accountable as well. This is the same person (as mentioned in bio) that serves as the MPD’s liaison for the National Initiative for Building Community Trust and Justice organization, overseeing the execution of initiatives on procedural justice, implicit bias, and reconciliation training. It was also stated that Police Chief Medaria Arradondo’s work has helped positively transforming the MPD culture and position the Department as a national leader in police service excellence. The words previously stated may have to change because there have been two incidents resulting in death of unarmed citizens with the latest death seen on social media and nationally. This has caused citizens not only within Minneapolis and surrounding cities to erupted in protest and riots. This situation has sent shockwaves of anger worldwide. Where is the culture change within the MPD? What we are seeing currently is not a leader in police service excellence. The judge laid a foundation with questions from jurors in Mr. Noor’s case to start the process of controlling the bleeding throughout the justice system within Minneapolis and MPD. However, it appeared as if the judge words were not taken serious by leaders of MPD. This would have been a good time to reenergize MPD’s mission and values throughout the city. This would have been a good time build that bridge between MPD and citizens of Minneapolis to stop the bleeding from wounds that has never healed due to leadership failure and lack of accountability. Correcting the deficiencies and truly holding officers accountable for misconduct would have allowed the city to begin the healing process. This should start and end with the Minneapolis Chief of Police. Once again, the inaction from people of authority has allowed the wound to re-open and again, there’s blood in the streets of Minneapolis. The only way to stop the current bleed out, charges must be handed down against ALL officers that subdued Mr. Floyd with a technique not used by MPD unless certified and properly trained to do so. Until the correct actions are taken, the wounds that keep leaders up at night in Minneapolis and any city / state may heal over time but more than not become infected. The citizens of Minneapolis should demand more from their elected officials but none more important than the Chief of Police. He is the first line of defense for the citizens and his officers should be living up to the values as he would if, he would have been on patrol and arrested Mr. Floyd. Just the thoughts from a retired Army leader of men and women.

They pulled him out because Floyd and that cop were bouncers at a Latino/black club and Floyd stopped that cop from mistreating people. Like most racists when confronted, they cower away. You know he mentioned it to his fellow officers and he wasn't on the scene originally. His boys called and told him they had George. He gets there and takes over the scene and the rest of them gave assistance and space for him to exact revenge on Floyd. George embarrassed and punk'd him at that club and he couldn't let it slide. The media ain't gonna tell y'all that. Don't believe? Research it.

It already happened to a white man named kelly Thomas who was killed the same way he even was screaming for his daddy while they killed him. His dad is a detective too. He was also mentally challenged and was homeless just sleeping on a corner. Same situation only thing different one was at night and screaming for his daddy , the other in the day screaming for his mother. Everyone single cop on scene should get manslaughter and the ones doing the killing gets death... remember if we kill one of them no matter what it’s life without parole and in some states death. Shouldn’t the same be giving to them if they kill. Why because there trained not to kill and to use non lethal ways to capture or detain...
