As a less experienced player, watching a professional play is a bit like that scene out of Hot Fuzz when Simon Pegg's character leaps & flips over all the fences, and then Nick Frost's character falls through the first one. Like you think you can hop in & make it happen, but it doesn't work like that. Still fun & enjoyable to play and watch 😂

Absolutely. I'm pretty good at mental math and have been playing Magic for 20 years, but it's absurd how fast he does combat math.

@@jeffe2267I’m a scientist and use complex evaluation on a daily basis. I agree he is blazing fast at doing the combat math. That being said addition and subtraction isn’t my thing, but I’m extremely efficient at solving differential equations. All depends on what mental muscles you flex regularly.

This actually makes me feel so much better about all the ring triggers I have forgotten. I think I've lost 3 games so far to forgetting which level the enemy ring bearer was on and auto piloting through blocks.

I really like when you give your final thoughts on the deck at the end of the draft. Great touch, and the insight is appreciated!

Game 1, doesn't Bowmasters work with deathtouch, to kind of machinegun their board? you can even give deathtouch after your opponent chooses to draw with elrond

47:20 This is why I have been prioritizing Lost to Legend and Cast into the Fire and Westfold Rider, stopping Horn of Gondor and Anduril is important and there is enough collateral damage that these cards are never blanks.

I've had some modest success with decks like this. I mean, green has some good ramp and fixing... and that's it. A deck built around cards like Wose Pathfinder could be good in other formats, and even can be good in this format, you do the same thing that was so fun in DMU, where you built a five color green deck, and when it works out, you can end up with a great deck that just plays whatever good card you see without caring about the colors. I think the real problem is that that kind of deck has literally no backup plan. If you go for it and don't get the bombs to justify all the ramp, you're stuck playing ramp cards with nothing to ramp into, just a bunch of bad green cards. I will say that when it comes together it's a lot of fun, but boy are you going out on a limb when you start trying to build a deck like this.
