This is awesome! I just started your core program and was impressed with this one. I own an ableton push 2 with Live 9 Suite and was wondering if i would be able to play along with this course without having to purchase anything more?

I would like to buy the metal drumming course just wondering if i have the tools needed.

Hi Amanda, Glad that you like the course so far. There's absolutely nothing you need in addition to what you already have. If you have Push 2 and a virtual drumkit, you're ready to go. Btw, for Live Suite + Push 2 users I recommend the setup explained here: kzitem.info/news/bejne/lWlpr4FtaqiSgZg Cheers, Andreas

Hi Amanda, Sorry for the late reply. Just seen the email notification of this comment. Do you have a pad controller and a virtual drum kit already? Cheers, Andreas

Sorry, KZitem was fooling me :-D - Just seen that I've answered already... and your name rang a bell as well. Sorry for my ignorance. I know that there are some virtual drum kits included in the Live Suite, but I haven't tested them yet. If you want to go for something that is specifically "Metal", then you might find something that suits your taste at Toontrack or XLN Audio.

Hi, great videos! I’m only using an iPad right now, but planning on getting the mpd218. Will the drum set you’re using be something I can get, or do you know of a set that can be downloaded to an iPad? Thanks a lot!

I know I should probably just go through your site a bit more and find out myself but, on the kick pad, during the last sequence, why do you only use one finger? Thanks for your amazing videos and reviews!

+Francesco Mastellone Thanks, mate. You mean only one finger of my left hand?

love your videos. I know you have many so which controller is the best for sensitivity according to you?

+Ale Loy Thanks, mate. I'm a big fan of the AKAI MPD218. Inexpensive, great sensitive pads, and a big software package... a no-brainer actually. I play them all the time and since they cost only 99 dollars, it's no financial pain to buy two for finger drumming. Cheers, Andreas

Thank you Andreas. I'm actually considering to purchase the mpd218 so I'm really happy to hear that. There is only a little doubt in my mind right now. I own an mpd24 which I hate for the pads but I love for the rest. I did the "tape mod" which improved a lot, but still it's far from what I'm looking for. Would you recommend me an "mpcstuff thick pad mod" on the mpd24 or even with that it's never gonna be as good as the mpd218? Thank you

I haven't tested any of the upgrade options that mpcstuff offer, so I can't really comment on that part. But what I can tell you is that I hated the MPD18 as well, but I really love the MPD218. It's a completely different, re-designed product with a hell of an upgrade of the pads. I suggest to go ahead with the MPD218. It's a great product... and I don't get a penny from AKAI for saying that. Promised. Best regards, Andreas

How did you configure two kick drums on EZX2....does EZX 2 made of metal have that flexibility too? Could you shed some light?
@XpressPads

the plugin itself handles that... you don't need to configure anything

Hey, I'm about to buy the fingerdrumming program, I'm just short in a midi keypad Which one would you prefer Ableton push(1 or 2) Or korg padkontrol? Thanks in advance :)
@XpressPads

both are actually good, but if you decide for push you decide for Ableton (which you anyway should ;-)), a higher price and smaller pads.

I started finger drumming at the age of 30 while developing the XpressPads technique. With interruptions in exercising and playing it took me less than year to get to the skill level I have today.
