They are also called Isa Browns. I have 9 of these. They are great chickens.

These look like a great choice for backyard egg layers!

The downside is it's just better egg layer than the Rhode island red not the white leghorn. White leghorn rooster x Rhode island hen would produce golden comets that are better egg layer than the two parent breed.

I have 15 Lil comets and they're amazing. Very gentle and docile. Egg production is stellar as well 😊

Not a very good meat bird . To small a thin . The best in my opinion for egg production in my opinion . my biggest eggs were 2.5”x4” and that was not diameter . That was just measuring across the top of egg . Mine also kept their sex link gene for 3 generations . Also , the roosters are the friendliest of all breeds I have had in over 50 years .

I keep hearing Golden comet chicken rosters are white but I see other videos of roster that look like the female I'm confused?

Also known as red stars at some hatcheries.

Yep, you're right! In some places, they call Golden Comet chickens "Red Stars" because of their pretty reddish feathers and because they're amazing at laying eggs. It's just a different name for the same cool chicken breed.
