love-hate-relationship. PLENTY of ego-clashes. passion. intensely in love and mutually admired of one another. Burton was a poet at heart.

There was never any hate. There was anger but never hate. The love lasted to the grave and beyond. We can still feel it.

I adore both of them, like magnets drawn to each other, a deep sexual attraction, admiration for each other, physical violence and the following reconciliation, it was fire and water, thunder and lightning and yet, they could not live together.

MOSTLY true book. Great read, but ending about “ the letter” was, as Taylor put it- “rubbish”.

B Jones can you elaborate on that? I’ve never heard that. I actually have a letter from Richard to Liza that was never sent. I’ve corresponded with one of Liza’s sons to tell him that whenever I find it, I’ll send it to his mom, but it’s my unfortunate understanding that this letter didn’t exist.

@@yardmama3660 It wasn't Elizabeth who said it was rubbish, it was Sally Hay, Richard's wife, at the time of his death. It is my understanding that Elizabeth was buried with the letter.

@@yardmama3660 I heard Nancy say that Elizabeth read the letter out to both of them. And in it he said that home was where she was and he wanted to come home. That saying is in his diaries several times that wherever Elizabeth is, is home. After reading the contents of many of his letters, I truly believe that he wrote that last letter to her. She never would have made up a story like that, knowing that it might hurt Sally. His niece Sian visited him and Sally at their home, and said that Richard was on the phone with Elizabeth for hours, and wondered how Sally could put up with it. And then she said "I guess she had too." I hope you can believe it, I do.

Golden couple to me is a term that represent all celebrity couples with huge hype that really loved each other no matter the time they shared together... THESE TWO WERE THE COUPLE OF THE CENTURY FOR A REASON... THE PRESS WAS MAD WITH THEM... THEIR RELATIONSHIP NEWS WERE EVERYWHERE AROUND THE PLANET AND WAS AS IMPORTANT AS POLITICS AT THE TIME 😂😂😂😂🙈🙈🙈 NO COUPLE HAS BEEN THAT FAMOUS... BRANGELINA COMPARED TO THEM IS JOKE 🤣🤣 AND WITH SAYING THIS NOTHING MORE TO ADD 😂😂

Well of course it's a sort of biography so you have to be into the movies they did and into them... That's for all biography books 😂😂
