Loving GoldenEarring, I was at a second hand record store criusing. To the Hilt was 1 dollar, well Such-a-Deal, and that is when I heard Nomad, shit the best ever. I was 20. Listening to it now 2022

No dislikes! No wonder! How can anyone mix such intellectual lyrics with such talented musicianship? I can listen to this song straight and think I'm tripping!

you guys are absolutely right!!! one of my old bands played "to the hilt" in 1992, the drummer loved it, I got this when I was 14,it was a little over my head, but I grew to LOVE it after about a year-long songs, very sophisticated arrangements-

One of my favorite Earring songs. This song is great but also listen to what the rhythm section does. Just amazing

Kooymans background howls are so haunting excellent guitar work. Kooymans had to of been some kind of economical secret weapon. The guy can sing like a woman so they don’t need to hire chicks for vocals. He has shrieks that would make king diamond jealous. Makes me wonder if some of the early Earring influenced him. Back to this song. It combines Yes and Pink Floyd effectively. Reminds me of both bands but GE effectively puts their special stamp on it. Music to take drugs to!

Indeed. Some Meigs county and this album... yeah... that's a good time. Opens the mind up. Showing my age, I suppose. And, mayhaps, my location on the planet....

George toward the end of the song with Cesar tearing it up gives me goose bumps. Rock HOF= LOSERS for this omission. Maybe the guys don't care already eons ago turning down The Who (Cesar), and Jimi H (Rinus). George deserves it in his fight. Afterall, he is only admired by Clapton, Jimmy Page, Alex Lifeson, Almond's...when they were alive, C Santana, etc. And the mediocrity that IS represented in the Rock HOF. These 4 are more talented than high 90's% that are in there.

Brilliant travel song, It captures the monotony and fatigue of being on the road, plus the disconnect; all for what?: 'Yeah I see you down below from my hotel window, on the run: Star Trek's on we got a dream in common'

@CantDoThatOnStage I totally agree. its amazing to me how incredible this album is and how utterly unknown GE is in the States outside of their two hits. Thank God i was an army brat and went to school in Germany, got turned on to real music at a nice young age. "Switch is my second favorite.

I personally don't think the 'To the Hilt' album can hold a candle to 'Moontan', but it was a nice step in the progressive direction, though it's a bit too heavy overall on the synthesizer for my tastes. But I like the moodiness of this song (as well as 'Violins', too). The band aborted this direction and went for a different sound on their next release.

Disappointing? Easily one of their best releases from their long, storied career. Your ears are broken.
