Caramel Sauce Recipe
1 Tin of sweetened condensed Milk
25g butter
2 Ts golden syrup
1 tsp vanilla Essence
Melt all in a saucepan on low medium heat until light golden color. Stirring often. The mix will thicken on standing. Store in a sterilized clean jar in the fridge.
Tan Square Recipe
150g softened butter
2c flour
1/2c sugar
1Tbs vanilla essence
Cream sugar and butter together then add the remaining ingredients, and mix until it comes together and it holds its shape when squeezed together. Place 3/4 of the mixture into a 9x9 square pan, the remaining 1/4 is used for the topping.
Caramel for the middle
1 tin of sweetened condensed milk
3 Tbs of golden syrup
100g butter
1 Tbs vanilla essence
Add all ingredients into a saucepan and heat on med heat until the butter has melted and all is combined. the sauce will be runny. It will thicken on cooking. Pour over the unbaked base.
sprinkle the remaining 1/4 topping over it.
Bake 170 fan bake for 20-30 mins until golden.
Ginger Crunch
Base
3/4 c sugar
250g butter
mix until well combined and fluffy
add remaining ingredients
3 c flour
1 tsp Baking powder
2 tsp ground ginger
Spread evenly over a cookie sheet, and press mix down. Bake at 170 fan bake until golden 25-30 minutes
Icing
melt 100g butter
3 Tbs golden syrup
3 tsp ground ginger
1-2 cups of icing sugar
mix until well combined.
Spread over the cooked base when it comes out of the oven.
