Appreciate the vid mate, my gt1080 hdr is coming this week and screen all set ready to go. You pretty much saved me thumbing through the manual. Many thanks 👍👏👏

Nice work. What adjustable track did you end up buying? And did you use the existing projector mount with the track? Thanks

I got the track from AllSportsSystems and the setup was very easy.

Hi Matt. Sorry if I missed it but I saw a comment that you exchanged the GT1080 for the GT1090. In your video around the 31 minute mark are you doing the projector adjustments with the 1080 or the 1090? I didn't think the 1080 could do all those adjustments you were doing. I'm caught between going with either of those projectors.

In this video I had the GT1080 but shortly after I had some connection issues with the hdmi port and the focus knob was a little off so when I went to exchange it, they were out of stock so I upgraded to the 1090. The 1090 does cost more but it’s a laser instead of a bulb for longevity, it has nicer adjustments, it’s brighter, and has a nicer remote. The 1080 was still very nice for the price though.

What size is your screen and how far is the projector from the screen
@DieselLegiance
Жыл бұрын
On this setup (it has changed since then) I believe it was an 8x14 screen and the projector was roughly 8-10’ away from the screen?

how many feet back from screen did you end up placing the Optoma GT1080HDR Short Throw Projector? I will have about the same size screen. Thanks for all the info

Hi there. Great vid. I bought the same projector. I have the 8 foot tall. 10.5 wide enclosure Can I run a 16:9 aspect Or do I need to go to a 4:3 aspect Is there a big diff ?? Thx
@DieselLegiance

The 16:9 gives you full HD/4k and the picture may be a little wider but not as tall. The 4:3 is not as high in HD quality and not as wide but it is taller. I say play with both formats and see which looks best for you. Your screen size is better set for 4:3 to maximize the viewabilty of the screen. If you run a 16:9 ratio you may have blank screen at the top and bottom.

I’m not sure about wirelessly but with a lighting to hdmi adapter you should be able to.

I know this video has aged but how much does the image shift actually move the image? I am going with a 86"x115" viewable screen.
@DieselLegiance

It gives you room for slight adjustments within a few inches. It’s usually enough to correct image alignment.

Hi bud any chance of a quick review of the 1090 hdr projector got a very similar setup almost finished and would love to know if you think it’s worth it? Thanks

Yes, I plan on that video soon. I actually had an issue with my 1080 and returned it and they didn’t have one in stock to replace so I actually upgraded to the 1090 myself. I’ve been using that one and really like it. It does cost more but it does have the laser instead of a basic bulb which will last a lot longer, it is brighter, it turns on and off faster, It is quieter, and it has the auto keystone which I thought worked very well. It also has a nicer remote.

You will need a good quality HDMI from your computer to the projector.

Hi Matt, I wanted a 16' x 10' sim screen and am wondering if your Optoma laser would work for me and what is the cost? How big is your screen? Am I going too big? I just bought the Bushnell Launch Pro and freaking out about the projector for my garage. Thanks Jim Kramer

I have an 8x14 screen and I have an Optoma GT1090 projector. The Projector runs around $1500. I like it a lot. I feel if you have the space for a larger screen, then go for it. Just try to go with a 16:9 ratio.

I did, but my hdmi port was acting up and Best Buy didn’t have one in stock to replace it so I upgraded to the 1090.

How far from the screen did you place the projector? And how far back will your hitting area be? if your screen is only 8 feet high, isn’t the projector in the way of the club swinging?
@DieselLegiance
2 жыл бұрын
I have the projector roughly 8-10’ from the screen. I stand almost under it so my back/forward swing does not interfere. This was a nice projector but I had an hdmi port issue and had to exchange it and ended up with the laser version 1090 which I really like as it’s brighter and lasts longer and turns on/shuts down faster.
