They dont stridulate (the loud noise) by rubbing the abdomen. It’s the rubbing of the abdomen that causes the hairs (setae) to get flown into the air. They stridulate (the loud noise) because on the inside face of their fangs (chelicerae) they have ´hairs´ caused stridulatory setae. When they rub their fangs, they produce that sound.

@@saturniidmoff Correct, females have more body mass compared to adult males, but adult males generally reach a greater leg span upon maturity, which is common knowledge in the hobby. Furthermore, the record you are referring to, was set in *1965,* _T. apophysis_ wasn'ẗ even described until *1991,* do you see how your line of argumentation begins to fall apart? What you are saying, is literally that "no new discoveries can possibly have been made since 1965, not even by hobbyists in whose care spiders tend to get bigger than they would ever have a chance to in the wild". It's still a surprise to me that the Goliath bird eaters are still more docile than others tarantula species smaller than them, or just the tarantulas from South America are more docile than the ones from Asia in general. I’m an Australian, and when I was a kid I had this treehouse that I used to play in almost everyday. But in the inside, on the middle of the door there was a ginormous black spider that I thought was a prop for a few years (it wasn’t). It was about the size of the spider mentioned in this video, and it never moved (that’s why I thought it was fake). But when a hive of bees moved into the treehouse, I wasn’t allowed to play on it, after my parents got rid of the bees, I was allowed to play on it again, but the spider wasn’t there. Bro dipped frfr.
