So far one of the top 3 best videos of Chinese tea ceremony

Thank you! Just for the record, there's no such thing as Chinese tea ceremony. What's often misnomered as a ceremony is gongfu tea. But it's just how we drink tea in the Chaoshan region.

Very nicely done. I have not seen a tea table like the one you use before, it’s very nice, very roomy.

Wasn't this ceremony also valued for it's cleanliness? I see that many of the steps involved cleaned the teapot, the cups, and the water itself through the process.

Ace Gaming LPs Some say tea drinking culture developed as a way to clean water in ancient times. Adding the leaves had many benefits, but boiling water killed microbes. Using the word "ceremony" gives the wrong impression, because in truth there really is no "Chinese tea ceremony". Whereas, in Japan the tea ceremony is actually more of a cultural ritual of sorts. The "wasted" water in gongfu cha is a way of heating the pot and cups, though it does have the added benefit of sterilizing the teaware. For whatever reason, China, unlike Japan, is much less focused on cleanliness and more on the taste of the tea.

just fyi...Japanese got tea ceremony from Chinese culture!! Japanese then made it their own style...ceremony is a fancy word for "serving" tea seriously, regularly for enjoyment. Japanese makes it seems more art form than Chinese. And Chinese is known for focusing on being practical of things...

Would you reduce the water temperature for green tea or is the steeping so short that it doesn't matter?

Many find a lower temperature results in a more appealing flavor for green teas. There's no right or wrong way. Directions on packaging are usually just the average. You have to experiment. That's the essence of gongfu cha - personalized perfection through trial and error.

thought in a Gongfu ceremony each movement is supposed to be graceful, controlled and precise - like you are practising Zhong Guo Wushu?

Wushu is gymnastics with metallic toys. The effort that goes into making a quality cup of tea takes experience to understand.

@@bp5662 Spoken like someone truly ignorant of the effort, beauty and gracefulness of Wushu. I didn't want to use the more general term "Zhong Guo Gongfu" because obviously Gongfu just refers to "hard work" and doesn't specifically have to mean martial arts and also could be easily confused with referring to Gongfu tea. Also didn't want to use "Tajiquan" because that level of gracefulness, precision, intention and beauty aren't limited to Tajiquan or soft/slow Chinese martial arts - it can be found in hard, fast forms too.
