Nah the record proves that they didnt value Martha's worth from the jump! Not just lied to her, stole her voice and tried to milli vanilli her ass like she couldn't just hit it on the spot, as she did a number of times. And the thing that STILL FUCKS ME UP, is that after all of the shit C+C dealt with over time for JUST this ridiculously avoidable bs, DO YOU SEE MARTHA WASH'S NAME CREDITED ANYWHERE?! This is c+c channel and this was posted 12 yrs ago... idc whatever horseshit "agreement" or if she did more collabs.. 1 she was actually credited in the later songs but come on dude , that song is literally as old as I am and you still can't even put her name in the title where it fucking belongs? I feel like anyone who knows the history of this record and doesn't think in the back of their mind that it just doesn't quite feel the same and then to still not see her name ANYWHERE makes me want to change it that much more... its been almost 30 years Freedom.. give the woman her credit and stop perpetuating the thought that it's Zelma singing and not Martha, it's obvious that's what you're doing STILL bc there's not one mention... at least do listening ears a favor and be up front about who is singing.. this was long but I've been screwed like being in music before and shit like this should've never been tolerated in the first place so.. #freedomwilliamsstillsucks #freedom Williamscouldgetthesehands #freedomwilliamsprobablycantread #onceathiefawaysathief

Wow, this was THE song back in the day. It's still a kick-ass song. I just can't wrap my head around the fact that now listening to it, so many years have past and I'm as old as dirt! Lol. I was around 26 when my husband and I were listening to this! Lmao! I'm now, geez...50 friggin years old! Just turned 50 this past Dec. Holy crap! I don't feel that old though, that's the strange thing. Man, I remember my husband and I bought tickets to see CC which was part of a line-up of several different groups including HEAVY D, R.I.P. and we were extremely excited. We even took a couple of friends of ours and it would've been her first live show ever. As soon as the beat to this started, the excitement and energy from the fans filled the arena. Everyone was standing, dancing, clapping, you name it. We heard, "Everyone dance now!" and Freedom Williams walked out on stage, sang or rapped a couple of words and BAM! he passed right out on stage, out cold yet, he was still singing through the speakers. He had been lip syncing. The whole song from the beginning was "staged", the lady tried to continue singing her part, but, since he was still out cold and being carried off stage but still hearing him rap, the crowd went ballistic! Being the skinny white girl, lol, I thought for sure a riot was going to break out. The audience was pissed to the max! Us 4, whitest as white 20 somethings, Lmao, ran like hell to get to the exits before we were crushed. Omg, I was scared shitless! We made it outside into the breeze way and my husband was gonna get to the box office window to inquire about a refund since the show was cancelled immediately, no one wanted to see the rest of the show by then. NO ONE. Well, scratch the idea of getting to the ticket counter, there was a mob of people banging on the glass, screaming, yelling, profanities flying, needles to say, instead of waiting in the mob of angry black men, lol, we decided we'd wait it out in the parking lot in our car! Hahaha! We were SO disappointed! We had waited along time to see this show! The tickets were hell expensive too! Especially when you've purchased 4! Man o man, it was a terrible and unfortunate thing to happen. To all of you who got to see them live? DaMMit!....lol, was It outstanding?! We never got the chance again. They never made it back to our city. 😳 After this happened, we never really heard about them again. Apparently, Freedom passed out from exhaustion and spent a few days in the hospital here. I'm happy to say, we still love this song! This "new" music, just, is not the same! In our opinion, this was when rap & hip-hop was awesome! Ok, well, it's time for me to take my Geritol and take a nap, lol. 😎💤 Holy crap this post is long! Sorry! DANCE ON MY RICKETY FRIENDS!🎧

I am 80 years old and I love this music and especially disco. This song gets me up and I love the beat. Yes, I can still move out. I used to dance with my girlfriend until the discos closed. The discos always ended playing "Last Dance" by Donna Summers. Remember those days. LOL😄

Man that has got to be a head rush. Jamming in the day to disco and the rest during your 30s and 40s and now you are (respectfully) 80 years old. I have an idea about that, having just turned 50 this summer. To me the 80s decade feels 400 not 40 years ago! I guess what I am trying to say is that those long ago days and their music is timeless. Us mortals however are not. Anyhow, you rock on CM!

I was born in 1976 and still discovering hits from that era (60s/70s) to this day. Wasn't born in USA so that doesn't help, but being here now does. Anyway, my buddy does this cool "timeline" thing where he listens to Top40 for EVERY WEEK after he was born. When he gets to 4 or so years on.. he starts to remember long forgotten things from childhood, coz the music of those times reminds him. It's something I'd recommend everyone who can do.. but you can do this only if you're born and raised in USA. All the top songs from other countries are on KZitem but there's no Top40 from 3rd week of October online. (That's my week, and #1 was what would now be impossible song to make, coz it's kinda predatory.. Rod Stewart and "Tonight's the night"). I always wonder whomever i meet what was the #1 song during their week, lol
