Not a lot of people will get this but the abruptness and carelessness Vinny uses to deliver this news to Jimmy reminds me of the makers of the movie Logan, where at the beginning, we find out Professor X had a stroke or something and accidentally killed all the X-men except Wolverine. Like, “all these characters you loved are dead. We couldn’t do nothing about it. And that’s it.” Made me want to wreck a phone booth too.

I wonder if they actually knew that Tommy had whacked Billy Bats or it was strongly suspected and Pauly gave him up to keep the peace with Bats' bosses. Tommy was the honey badger, I'm sure he did a lot of things that needed smoothing over and he finally went too far with Pauly.

There was a lot of people at the bar that night who can testify that they saw Tommy blow up in anger at Batts and Tommy even tells Henry in plain view of everyone to keep Batts there in the bar while Tommy takes his girl home. Tommy wasn’t very discreet. There’s no hard evidence, but it didn’t take a genius to deduce that he probably had something to do with Batts’ murder.

The real story is Paul Vario knew about the Billy Bats for a long time, but only decided to make Billy's crew aware of it after Tommy tried to either rape or make a very strong advance on Henry Hill's wife- who incidentally, Paulie was already banging.Try to make some kind of omerta or mob loyalty out of that twisted shit show Good luck,

The way he cries almost makes him look like his Days go on and on with no end. Almost makes hin look like his whole life was leading to this one point or something, like he was thanking God for rain to wash the trash off the streets.
