I'm in love with the show... Watching it in 2022... ❤️ Love the entire family... Especially Bud ♥️... Also wish I had a dad like Robert Young to guide me and love me... Wish I was a part of that family 💗

It's 2022, and I just watched a rerun of Father Knows Best. Not having family programs like this on TV is ruining families, imo. Instead, we can see many anti-family shows on TV today, and they make life hard on mothers and fathers, and encourages children to be more rebellious.

This was my favorite show and I so wished "Robert Young" would have been my father so much. I truly felt he was speaking to me whenever there were teachings he needed to provide to Cathy or his other children. What is amazing I found myself feeling he was part of my mentors of those that provided moral and ethics. I love them for all they help me see the world in a positive light. Thank you for ALL your performances to all of you! Never forgot and never will.

This show is one of the best shows for television ever made....most likely nothing will ever rise above it...to me this is an ideal family and wish we all could have been in it...who could wish anything else...of course life is not like this...but sure wish it was ...adjusted, loved, supported. Morals and manners were portrayed ....television today is ugly, immoral and sad..right is right and wrong is wrong..

I have quite a few 16mm Episodes of FKB in my Film Collection. These were the Films that were sent to the TV Station Affiliates from the Network and depending on the Station, were transferred to 2 inch Video Tape or projected directly into a Vidicon TV Camera by a special16mm Projector referred too as Film Chain Projectors which used a special 5 blade Shutter verses the 2 and 3 blade used on General Audio Visual Projectors. This was necessary because you would have Flicker on your TV Screen with a 2 or 3 blade shutter. Almost all the Prints are still in excellent condition and their Quality is excellent as they were made from the original 35mm Camera Negatives and reduced to 16mm for most TV Stations......Loved This Show and of Course Bud was my Favorite Character. Even got Lauren Chapin to sign an Episode called "Adopted Daughter" which she did including a couple paragraphs saying this was one of her favorite episodes and wishing she had a Print of it...

If Father Knows Best was supposed to represent a real family, then the show would never have been made. My father was much like Jim Anderson. I think this was the best situation comedy ever made with two movie stars in the lead roles. The shows were extremely well written and directed. In every situation comedy in the past thirty or more years everyone is a comedian and there were no straight men. The two best written situation comedies I have ever watched were Father Knows Best and Leave It To Beaver. Just amazing writing with the kids acting their ages. I raised my daughter in almost the exactly the same way as Ward Cleaver. It can be done.

As a kid when this show played, I knew it was not a true characterization of me, my parents, my family life or that of my friends. We enjoyed the show but joked about the relationships between the family players and the demeanor of the parents. "Beaver", My Three Sons, and others of the same format were nothing more than entertainment. Billy Gray took the social impact of the show too seriously. He owes his lasting recognition to it.

I really dig this show. But youre right. My 3 sons the worst. Not even funny. And the stuff Beaver did repeatedly probably would have gotten him the belt in real life. But actually, Jim did get mad sometimes. His occasional fiery temper was refreshing. And Margaret put her foot down sometimes.

Billy Grey loves to moan about the show yet he stayed on the show all 6yrs. If he hated it so much why didn't he quit. As a kid watching the show I would cringe at how dumb Bud would act. Bud was a whining brat who hated work and that was how he was in his real life. He blames his problems on his pot arrest...please, give me a break!! He mainly was unhappy with himself and his insecurities.

Bear in mind that Billy Grey was a working actor with film roles, including “The Day the Earth Stood Still,” for several years leading up to this series. Child actors from that period often had reason to complain; many made excellent money, but never saw any of it, and were treated as adult professionals, expected to know their lines, hit their marks, and pretend to be someone they weren’t at very early ages. Add to this the facts that they were required to do a given number of “class time” hours daily; often had domineering stage parents, driving them to be someone they weren’t; and that they had few if any real real-life friends, and it’s easy to see why an attitude problem might develop

The show was far from misogynistic, nothing could be further from the truth. If you actually watched the program, you’d realize that the father character was actually the foil of most jokes, taking himself and his opinions too seriously. Where, exactly, did racism fit in? Name a single episode with racist overtones. If you don’t like that the show wasn’t about a black, Asian or Latino family, you were watching the wrong show. The first show with a black father character, who was a likable, professional man, featured Bill Cosby in the title role. Turns out Bill was drugging and raping young guest stars all the while the show was filming. Grow up, Joe, read some books, get your news from sources other than biased media, and walk around in the fresh air occasionally. Judging people and programming from a different era by today’s standard of taking offense at everything is simply ignorant. Step out of your safe space and expand your mind.
