There are PGA (Pin Grid Array), Stud mounting, and "rPGA" formats used as well in modern motherboards. "SPGA" or Staggered PIN Grid Array is a thing also. I think this is interesting and probably an easier to manage form of "deconstruction" versus incineration. So many fumes into the air with incineration and chemical byproducts to consider. This 1 video may well change some companies perspective on disassembly and really impact the entire circuitboard industry's lifecycle product management.

The volume of components to be heat desoldered must be a big concern. Individual components on the motherboards may NOT have sufficient recovery value, the resistors, transistors and capacitors are tiny, tiny, compared to the larger microprocessors. This looks to be a smart approach and probably helps the processing company in several ways -- the operator here is "skilled labor" and can get very proficient performing the task over time. I would think ultimately, another form of excising the components will replace the worker but, that is only a guess.
@feloria1862

😂 It can be said that the second-hand chips circulating on AliExpress and the second-hand market in China all come from this way. They all come from Guiyu, Guangdong. Although cutting PCBs looks rough, it is very environmentally friendly compared to incinerating and disassembling chips, and the chips removed in this way are not easily damaged. I like to buy such chips. For example, some old FPGA chips.
