I have been using the stubby gauge with core depressor removed for quite some time now. I must admit I got the idea from one of your older videos. Works great and is the first thing I check on older packaged units especially if they have CoreMax high-flow valves which are prone to leaking. Your videos are very enjoyable, thank you.

Good job on coil cleaning and the leaves aren’t going to bother cooling performance. The only thing the leaves will do is hold moisture causing corrosion but if the bottom isn’t falling out of it already a couple of weeks won’t matter.

make them clean cut and clear a ten foot radius around and twenty foot height above, before agreeing to install a new unit and specify no warranty if the clearance is not maintained or just refuse to install it if they dislike it. I myself would rather be broke, than knowingly disservice others and I hate those who do so(knowingly), none of us ae perfect nor all knowing beings, so you have to judge is a nicely as possible and factor in having bad days. taking shortcuts is most always bad and will cost you/others/many more in the end and yes it most always comes back around to you full circle. most often ending with you kicking yourself in the and bunghole.(lol) or being dead from "RUSH"ing to the bottom of the oceans "Stockton" titangate implosion (whom with half a wit didn't see that coming?). life lesson one, do not play with pressure vessels, more so ones that are subjected to tremendous external pressures *compression*.

Sweet...would be good to know when it was last recharged as that could have been a year or two or up to 10 years ago etc. The condenser was filthy dirty. I'd have told the customer that bush is getting a hair cut if they want HVAC servicing. There's no point in leaving that Holly alone when its invasive to the HVAC performance and in servicing. I'd like to blame much of condenser dirt build up from gardeners and their leaf blowers stirring up the surface soil and debris to do their job while the condenser is running and pulling it all inward. Great idea on the Schrader check. Really like how that coil jet works and that it has tips to do various spray patterns. I use it all the time even if no cleaner is required on a job, lots of homes have crap water pressure and access to hose bibs.

Ted I know you are old a wise and I have learned a tremendous amount from certain things you do running your business but this young buck needs to give you some advice. Please start locking your van when you get something out or walk away from it. Your tools are your livelihood and there are tons of scum of the earth just looking to take from us what we have worked so hard to acquire. It might not happen today or tomorrow but it will eventually. I know locks only slow them down but why give the easy quick access to your tools and refrigerant jugs.

Ted, I also know you're a wise man. Having said that, I'm going to agree with @tuffram2165, it's a strong suggestion that you close and lock up your work van when you're away from it. Too many individuals looking to get some high quality tools at a 5 finger discount. You're great man Ted and I'm learning so much from you sir. Happy Hvac'n

I agree on the not cleaning the trash out of the bottom and wouldn't have bothered to use coil cleaner either, now pulling the top and hosing from inside out with full/large stream up close(wont bend fins) and moved on. it's probably a splayed fin type coil and loves to plug bad deep inside where it's hard to see! granted it should have been cleaned yearly or more from install to keep efficiency up and to stop it from turning the gas/oil acidic, which could have helped the indoor coil to not leak for more years. BUT, it was likely indoor air contaminates and poor quality thin copper, which is also touching steel and aluminum and always wet when in operation... what could possibly go wrong? 🤣 far beyond us, upstream engineering/bean counter influence levels(total idiots at the helm) very few complaints from me on your service work(as well as others I watch and comment on), its all suggestions on possible improvements/easier ways. nobody is perfect (I know all too well), but some people out there just never try to improve and fail endlessly, also the ones that just keep running the system until frozen solid/burnt out fully. 🥳🥸
