Thanks for sharing. I think this will really help me, as long as I don't have to add the numbers. I suck at math. 😂

Hello Nate. I recently came across your KZitem channel and I subscribed because your singing/harmony parts are amazing! Keep doing the work of the Lord! I was wondering if you would consider singing "Yet Not I But Through Christ in Me" by CityAlight. This is by far my favorite Contemporary Christian song and would love to hear someone as good as you sing it. Either way, thank you for what you are doing for our Lord, Jesus Christ. Have a blessed day!

Thank you, Noah. I appreciate that. That's a great song. We sing it at our church. I'll write it down on my list of songs to consider. :) Can't promise anything, but I'll keep it in mind. 👍😁

Thanks Nate. Although this video is way above my skill set, the intervals approach is starting to make lots of sense now. Just to check, the 1 is the root note of the chord of the key the song is in? Thanks

Sure thing! No, I don’t think this is above your skill set at all. It may just take some getting used to. Yes, you got it. In this video, the 1 is the root note of the key we are in (so C for this song). But, if we were in a different key, 1 would be the note of whatever key we were in.

Why didn't you use solfeggio instead of numbers?
@WorshipRefocus
Жыл бұрын
Good question. I actually prefer solfège, because it is so much nicer to sing on (rather than saying "seven" for example... "ti" is so much better to sing on). BUT, I decided to stick with numbers for two reasons. 1. It's easier for people who haven't learned solfege to sing on numbers... it's an easier "on-ramp". 2. Singing on numbers carries over nicely to creating chords on these same scale degrees with the same numbers (the 1 chord, the 4 chord... and so on). BUT, all of these exercises work just as well with solfege. So, if you are more comfortable with that... you can easily just substitute them. 👍
