Nate Strout gives a demo to our Geoversity partners of a custom Google Earth Engine app for identifying potential forest loss areas in the tropical 'Diammayala' territories in Panama. This forest loss analysis is based on the change in Sentinel-1 Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) backscatter values over a timeseries. The app also uses other remote sensing platforms available in Google Earth Engine including Sentinel-2 multispectral data and Gedi's lidar-based tree canopy heights data.
